By the sound of some of the brain dead bumbling Divs on here slagging off a team whos had one bad patch in 4 years maybe there best kept out of the grounds with there negativity

Second bad patch, to be fair. In the games after Paul Coutts broke his leg, our results were:

Genuine hope of Sheffield going into Tier 2 on 16 December with cases at the level they are.

Local business owner I know told me today that someone from the Council has told him they're extremely hopeful and confident of being dropped a tier, whatever credibility that actually carries.

So could a few of us be at the Lane on Boxing Day? What will the protocol be? How many season ticket holders will get in amongst the 2,000?

I think other clubs are having ballots for the 2,000 tickets, and if you're successful for one match, you then aren't eligible for future ballots (until everyone who wants a ticket has had one). As we haven't sold season tickets this year, I wonder if the club will have a loyalty points cut-off to be entered into the ballot.

My season ticket comment was around the fact that you expect all the top loyalty point owners to be season ticket holders last season and all were promised a refund of the missed games on this season which obviously hasn't been allowed to happen.

Just wondered if it would be the top loyalty point owners after comps etc, or all season ticket holders from last season in a ballot.

Not sure it's fair that it should be top 2k going on loyalty points every game?

Many clubs doing ballots and then once you have been once that's you frozen out for a while until fans have all had a chance to go.

For me fans who paid for a season ticket did not get to see 4 games last year so every one of the 23,000ish ST holders + should get to see a game before the season finished ideally if we get back. If we get to see games after Xmas and it is 2k a game we'd probably all get to see maybe 1 game each before the end of the season.

That would be fair to all. Not sure why the same fans should get to go most games.

So those getting excited about being back might need to temper it with the fact you may only get to go once or twice in the next 6 months or so. Maybe the 2k goes up gradually but still those who went to every home game and never missed (me included) will have to get used to the idea of matches happening at the Lane which a few will attend and the majority of regular fans won't be there.

Just checked my loyalty points level, and I now believe it would only be fair if the cut-off level to be entered into the ballot was 5,000 points (anywhere up to 5,700 points would be fine).

It's Covid19 that determines all,
So long the method of choice is fare, and seen to be fare, any little nuances folk have should be put to one side.

Could the ballot not be for groups of tickets? So you apply for how many you want 1/2/3/4 etc (probably up to 4?)... then numbers drawn until the full allocation is filled? Otherwise you'd end up with everyone going alone, ruling out kids, anyone who needs assistance, or anyone who doesnt feel safe going alone etc - with some check that everyone you attend with is from the same house/bubble

At the Chelsea v Leeds match every time you saw close up shots of the fans plenty were not wearing masks. They mainly had them slung round their chins. You even saw some stand up to sing/hurls abuse pull down their mask, shout or sing then pull the mask back up. If that becomes the norm I can't see this lasting.

Not sure whether I like just home fans will take a bit of getting used to when not at Bramall Lane. Felt really sorry for their defender who got jeered everytime he touched the ball in the 2nd half. I know its Leeds etc but just made me think if this happens in one of our away matches its a bit off putting.

I guess its something to get used to. Would have preferred 2000 home fans and 500 away fans allowed to balance it up a bit better.

Not really took any note of what clubs have been doing since fans were allowed back and not considered what we might do until today.

Noticed a few crowds over the last few days in and out of the PL and there has always been a few pockets of 2 or maybe 3 sat together with plenty on their own.

Rightly or wrongly I've assumed those together were from the same household.

I've not got a particular view on how it should specifically be done but even as someone with easily enough points to be in the top 2000 of loyalty points, I'd be more than happy to see each season ticket holder from last season get to go to one match during the remainder of the season.

The only scenario that would annoy me would be too many randoms with connections going each home game.

Yeah I saw lots of fans at Champ and the Chelsea and West Ham games without masks and not particularly social distancing (not all the people they were next to were family surely?). Also as expected saw lots of shouting/singing without masks on. Wasn't this meant to be not allowed although how they enforce it I do not know?

Also why were fans not dotted round stadiums. Huge grounds and they put everyone in one bit and using the same concourses etc. Reading v Forest was ridiculous that they squashed everyone together...granted odd seat free but they had 3 sides empty and all fans in the middle tier of one stand.

I'd be concerned that if there are any asymptomatic carriers that infection could be rife in certain stadiums on what I saw yesterday.

I was quite shocked how crowded it all looked yesterday for so few fans. Hope these go ok though and crowds can steadily increase. At least it was a step in the right direction.

Do think its going to be years before stadiums are anywhere near to full capacity and maybe won't ever be allowed to be full again as life has changed forever even with vaccines.

Football and concerts will probably see no more than 50% for the next few years. Certainly will make it weird only maybe going to the Lane a handful of games each season moving forward and really sad to think I/we might go to like 5 or 6 home games a year and that will be the norm (if its fairly rotated round) and also might never see an away game again (they certainly won't allow away fans for a long time).
