They were taking some fearful hammer before K/O with dozens of people having their smart cards refused at the turnstile.

But they still allowed this bellend who'd forgotten his season ticket to get in. No admin fee either.

Muchos gracias!

I was one who couldn't get in as my sons cards were blocked. I was fuming, especially as the queue's were so large and I missed the KO. They did a great job in the office an I refrained from giving the poor girl an ear bashing.

Careful though John - I reckon you only get one stab per season at the forgotten ticket lark.

Oh yes, it's never happened before and won't again. There were, shall we say, extenuating circumstances.... :)

The poor bloke next to me in the queue had had his season ticket refused and was phoned by his family inside the ground and told that his seat had been sold to some other bugger for the season. Ouch!

6 of our family had no trouble with their ST's but my 15 year old nephews' was refused for some unknown reason . Luckily , his aunt was behind him in the queue and she managed to attract the attention of one of the turnstile attendants . He in turn produced some printed lists with hundreds of ticket numbers that had been blocked and my nephews was amongst them . The attendant used a bit of common sense and let him enter instead of sending him to the by now overcrowded ticket office ...judging from the number of red lights and bemused faces of other fans as they tried to use their cards ..., saying that we'd best get it sorted before next week.
TOO RIGHT WE WILL !!
All of our ST's were renewed before the April 17th deadline ...on the same day ....at the ticket office....with all the correct paperwork (birth certificates ect... we always show them just in case ) .... and were paid for with cash ...so it's going to be interesting to hear why that one card was blocked. Presuming of course, that we'll be able to get through to the ticket office at some stage tomorrow !!!!

The most likely answer is the staff who dealt with the renewals didn't know how to operate the software correctly. The ticket office staff were apologising profusely to those around me yesterday.

Update re the blocked ticket.
Called the ticket office this morning and was told that because of the price change , all of the junior ST's had been re issued and he should have received his new card in the post sometime last week . It hadn't arrived this morning either so they've issued a ticket for him to pick up for the game tomorrow night ....and we'll have to wait and see what the postie brings in the morning .

If sent by the same company who sent last years marketing stuff, you may receive it for the boxing day game.

Update ...re the blocked ticket part 2.

Nephew received his super duper flashy new red season ticket in the post this lunchtime . His mom was in two minds whether to ring the ticket office to cancel the replacement ticket thay had issued but thought no, we'd better use that now they've authorised and printed it . Off they go , stop off at the office to pick up the ticket and let them know that the new season card had now arrived . ''Oh,, you'll not need this ticket now then '' was the young girls' reaction as she promptly ripped it in two and binned it . '' I hope you're right about that '' was his moms reply .

GUESS WHAT ???
Yep.....you guessed right ........the new card didn't chuffing work . Upon seeing the steam emitting from young nephews moms ears a very nice young lady attendant once again came to their assistance and escorted them in to the ground .

So.... a word of advice ticket office staff if you're reading this forum tonight ..... you might want to sling a tin hat over your shoulder when you set of for work . I SOOOOOO wish I could be a fly on one of those walls tomorrow ... :shakehead:
