I would like to assume that you (and your management team) watched the Swindon play-off video??

What told you from that game that ...
a) these guys could defend?
and that b) your main priorities should be to sign TWO strikers and a wide midfielder?

Are we planning to score 6 away from home in order to get a win?

If the next couple of guys in through the door are not proper centre backs - then I'm afraid that you will find this will be the shortest honeymoon period ever - because our main problem has been OBVIOUS and fans forums have been banging on about it !

I'd sack any manager immediately who read and took advice from the fans forums! ;)

Agreed, but is there a man on the planet who doesn't think our defensive options are too thin?

Take a good look at today's team selection and tell me honestly were you surprised they let goals in, in fact the only hope of a win today was that we scored more goals than them.
So is this the new exciting football we were promised ?

You are of course correct - my nipper told me the team from his twitter feed at 2 0 clock (ish). It was what I expected and went into a strop.

The result was entirely predictable. Now as I have stated before, at times people have to get off the fence so here goes:
Long - too inexperienced
Freeman - nice clever, silky, skillful footballer - more suited to a wing back - is useless in a 4 at defending - gets skinned far too easily.
Collins - well we all know - average to poor at this level and won't get ant better
Mcevely - Is a left back, nice skillful left foot - will never ever be a centre half - can't head a ball and makes wrong decisions.
Mcfadzean - just too inexperienced to cope with an agricultural division.

Result today was so predictable, but 4 nil is just taking the piss out of what we have all known for a long time and what Adkins should have known since he joined.

It could be a blessing in disguise. At least today shows Nigel and the board how desperate we are for 3or4 new players at the back if we want promotion. 3 weeks until window closes, yes is should have been sorted already, if we'd have knicked the odd win and a couple of draws this month they may have just stuck with what we had.

I hope your not serious with that comment, he is a god awful full back and zero skill with that left foot of his.

Just out of interest how many games has ANYONE seen him play at full back. That is why he was apparently brought in and I doubt any one has seen enough games at full back to really know how good/bad he is.

I will be pissed off if there isn't at least one new centre half playing for us next weekend. That and if George Long is in the net again

Hopefully Harris gets a run out on Tuesday and can be available for selection against Chesterfield. I would've against getting a new left back and two centre halves in though.

I have zero idea who's available although I noticed Harlee Dean played the full 90 for Brentford yesterday so it's not going to be him.

I saw enough of him in that position last season, he provided nothing to the team and I was really glad to see Harris take his place back.

Sure, Harris was no 1 choice and I believe we all thought Mcev was backup to put pressure on Harris.

For me Mcev is a poor centre back who rarely attacks balls and should be cover at Left back. Probably someone we can actually afford at L1 standards - a fact that passes by a lot of fans.

When he has time on the ball he does actually look to pass a ball to midfield, but the pre-requisite is that he can defend as we know central defenders can do, which in most peoples opinions he does not.

I think we might be in for a slow start. I am going to compare it to when Pochettino turned up at Spurs and wanted to bring in a high intensity game. He didn't choose his captains, however they were voted on by the dressing room. With a heavy French speaking contingency they voted for Kaboul (really), Adebayor and Lloris.

Pochettino being new went with this for the first couple of months, and his club captain Kaboul played even though he is gash, his vice in Adebayor doesn't need explaining. Suddenly he realised that he had players that were voted for the wrong reason and were a bad influence on the changing room. These are just two players of the problem that have either left or train with the U21's.

I compare this to Adkins because he says that Collins and McEverley are part of a 6 man committee who can speak to the management about any issues the players have. Maybe just maybe they were chosen because Collins is the most experienced Scott and Mceverley is the leader of the Scousers. We strangely have players who seem to influence where they player like Baxter.

Is this team still badly influencing each other, and how long will it take Adkins to see this possible cause

Good analogy and extremely worrying as we have to ship out a lot of players who have no value in the market as well as bring in new effective defenders etc. And in doing this, change the leadership whilst improving results.

Will he get any financial backing to help him do this ?
