---------Cooper---------
Gilchrist--Souttar--Anel--Burrows
Souza--Arblaster
JRS--Hamer--Brooks
------Moore------

Benching O'hare for this one, think we might click slightly better like this.

I know O'hare is a new signing and excites people, but no room for sentiment and don't think he's quite hit his straps yet.

Can't agree mate. Callum has to play. Why put Brooks on left when he plays on the right. A bit unlucky for Brooks but JRS to start on right and Hamer on left.
Will Brooks be back, not sure how long he has left on the concussion protocol as it isn't clear when he got the concussion.

Think Wilder said 12 days is the protocol. we played Watford on 1st September so assuming he got it before the day he is ok to play on the 13th.

Its nice to have a head ache on who to leave out!

------------------Cooper
Gilchrist-Souttar-Anel*-Burrows
-------------Arblaster-Souza
------Rak-Sakyi*-O'Hare-Hamer
-------------------Moore

Subs: Davies, JLT, McCallum, Shackleton, Peck, Marsh, Campbell, Brewster, Hampson/Brooks

*Anel is depending on his fitness, as the article mentioned that he was having issues with his hamstring. If he isn't fit then I wonder if moving Souttar to LCB, Gilchrist to RCB and playing Shackleton at RB could work.

* Rak-Sakyi I would expect to start as I'm not sure if Brooks will be back in time.

That's good at least.

Hopefully air miles Harry will have shrugged off the jet lag and will be Ok

I have no idea why O’Hare can’t play off the left and drift in… he’s a better dribbler than Hamer is

It's a squad game and Wilder must start thinking in terms of planned tactical substitutions from 60 mins onwards.
We have no depth in defence or attack but we have plenty of midfielders including two great wingers.
If I were manager I would never allow O'Hare , JRS , Brooks or Peck to be on the bench for the entirety of any match - they are too good and I want them to stay match-sharp.
So for me it's only a decision of who starts and who comes on in the second half.
Look at what PL teams did to us last season , bringing on attacking talent against our tiring defence from 60 mins onwards.
Also , a change of players helps to discomfort to oppo defenders. Suddenly they face an unknown threat.
Also , once Campbell & Brewster are fitter , they should get a chance.
Keep more than eleven players involved because you can be sure we'll need them ready when injuries & bans come.

Nothing against Moore, but I'd like to see Campbell given a start.
Providing he is fit , I want to see Campbell introduced at 60-70 mins.
I don't care whether he replaces Moore or O'Hare or whoever , but we need the best of the attacking subs to be getting at least 20 mins every game to keep them at peak form & fitness so that when injuries & bans happen , they slot in without weakening the team.
The quality ranking of the defence plus Souza is pretty much fixed - we know who our best 5 are.
But in midfield & attack we have a pool of talent of 9 (maybe 11) for 5 spots
Blaster , Peck , Hamer , Brooks , JRS , O'Hare , Moore , Campbell , Brewster (plus One & Hampson at a push).
So Wilder needs to stop delaying our subs until a player is knackered or we lose the initiative.
He needs to start making proactive subs for the attacking 5 from 60 mins onwards.
Give the oppo defences some problems.
Keep our 9 match-sharp , give them a reasonable expectation of involvement from the bench.
Foster "squad spirit".
Barring injuries , I really think we have the players to succeed this season , if Wilder would only listen to me about how to use them 🙄

I would be seriously tempted to start Brewster on Friday, not that I am a Brewster fan at all but 32 year old Moore has started twice for Wales in the last week including travelling to the other end of Europe to play 80 minutes in a monsoon, he is going to be running on fumes.

I would look to start Brewster for an hour then bring in Moore to play for the last half hour against tiring defenders.

Don’t think Moore is that knackered that we have to start young fan belt leg 🦵

Montenegro is hardly the other end of Europe! Scored and won. He’ll start imo.

I would go with that, but try swapping OHare wide and bring Hamer central. I just think it suits both of them better.

The debate for me at the moment is Rak-Sakai vs Brooks. Great dilemma to have. At the moment I think Brooks offers more and works harder over 90 mins. RS had a lot of lazy moments for me vs Watford, failing to track back and protect Gilchrist. However, RS running at defenders is frightening and he could be our main creator.

Exactly, the game has changed and is becoming more like rugby in terms of using the bench. You can get 'one set of players ' going full at it for as long as they can last then another set full at it when they replace them. This means we should never run out of legs in midfield as we have a plethora of quality players to bring in and replace those who are tiring.

definetly brooks first choice before rak-saki imo as for o'hare i agree he hasnt hit the heights yet trying too many tricks and flicks for me

I agree. If we had a midweek then maybe we'd have played it a bit safer rotation wise, but he can surely do 60-70 mins tomorrow and then put his feet up until next Saturday.

Yeah I would have said O’Hare on the left and Hamer in the middle. I’m sure they’re both good enough to interchange when needed.

I can only think that Wilder reckons Hamer will get more shots off from his right foot if drifting in off the flank and hitting it. Whereas O’Hare is more likely to dribble in every situation and maybe benefits more from being central and having two ways he can go.

Wonder if we might see something if Cambell tomorrow, with Moore having picked up a head injury on international duty

Didn't Brooks play on the left when he broke into the team last season?
Or is my memory failing me?

Brooks is our player and I can see the improvement in him……but the Watford players were terrified of JRS once he realised he should be taking them on. I would start JRS and bring Brooks on later

If HCMD was manager tomorrow:

- - - - - - - - - -Cooper- - - - - - - - - -

Gilchrist - - Anel - - Souttar - - Burrows

- - - - - - Souza - - Arblaster - - - - - -

- - JRS - - - - - Hamer - - - Brooks

- - - - - - - - - Moore - - - - - - - - - -

Number of injury doubts though so there could be surprises.

Brooks gets the shirt back for me, been the best of the attacking midfielders/wingers in my opinion. Like many, I sense it would be better to swap Hamer and O'Hare, but think Wilder should stick with his plan for but longer. More tactical, than players, can we get a bit more width, someone who can go outside Brooks/JRS on the right and can we get Burrows into more crossing positions on the other side.
