Nice one mate. I'd have thought no less of you if you had sobbed.Saw what I wanted to see there.
Specifically, Ravel and Mousset getting good minutes and playing well.
Mousset has so many great attributes to work with. One hell of a physical specimen. Looked sharper and hungrier tonight. He's not a million miles away.
I think Ravel could do the deeper lying role in his own unique style, with the added swagger and flair without giving the ball away much. Good football brain. Has a combination of Norwood and Duffy's attributes. Plus the extra.
Sadly think it's the last we'll see of Duffy and Leon though. Two Blades heroes. Fitting that Leon scored twice and Duffy scored once! I sobbed seeing them disappear down the tunnel. I didn't
AK.Who was managing the team?
Boyes (blue boots) was twelve. York who only played in the first half was seven.Looked a good player. Think it was Boyes or York.
No need to pick up on the negativity of old posts a few days before our first PL game.Wilder must be laughing his head off if he reads this forum.
So many people saying they are very happy with the Summer signings but just don’t understand the Lys Mousett signing. They were worried that he was injured when he arrived. Worried that Bournmouth were quick to get rid and worried that his touch and ability looked really poor against Matlock.
He hasn’t played a proper game yet but already he’s shaping up to challenging Lunny as the main scapegoat.
A week later and it’s.......that Lys Mousset is quick, has big potential and might become some player for us.
That's a bit harsh tbf. I was at matlock and didnt comment "he barely looked like a professional footballer"". I was kinder. But he didnt.Wilder must be laughing his head off if he reads this forum.

Yes enjoyable night in front of over a 1,000...Matt Prestridge seemed to be running the team with Alan Knill in a trench coat and combat trousers. No sign of CW.
Always nice to have a pint in your seat too at a friendly and picturesque ground.
United won 3-0 and it should have been 10 really. We only scored late in the first half through Duff and that hit the bar and post but somehow the assistant said it went in. Did not look it to me. Leon scored two.. a header from a Freeman cross and a one on one from a Mousset through ball. We only played 12 players....11 + 1 sub ...with just Mousset coming on for Reece York. Think he wanted minutes for a lot of them.
Dewhurst - Nothing to do but field back passes...one he nearly let over his foot and into his net. A few other shots went miles over.
Freeman - Solid enough. Lost a bit of weight and got up and down with some decent crosses too. Have a feeling hevl wont be here soon as Wilder seems to want to upgrade here
Boyes - Played left wing back...started with a few loose touches but got better and had a few decent runs and efforts 2nd half.
Wright - Left sided centre back...did not have much defending to do and ended up as an over lapping winger at times with pur usual system which is not his forte! Think he will end up at a League 1 club if a loan can be arranged.
Stearman- Played central. Easy ish game really where he just rolled it right and left and won a few headers. Handy lad to have around.
Heneghan - Right centre back. He never looks totally comfortable in our system and technically his touch let's him down. He is more of a solid head and kick it centre back. Reckon League One is about his level
Bryan- Not seen him play defensive midfield before and a player that has not convinced me before. Tonight he surprised me albeit v non league oppo. He was steady, always looked to receive and tidy with the ball. Nothing flash but very busy and his touch/passing better than I had seen before.
York - Been involved a lot of the pre season stuff like Boyes. He began a bit rushed but he started to get on the ball. Had one good run where he nearly scored and linked play nicely. Came off at HT as we put two up top- before this Duff and Morrison played off Clarke.
Morrison - Played well. Technically excellent and a few lovely tricks to beat a man. He played in a few different midfield positions but ended up the deep lying midfielder and others have said he could play in different roles in midfield. Quick to see a pass, can run with the ball and a lovely passer. He also showed a good appetite to get it back and did not look the lazy player I remembered. He won't run around like crackers but is not stationery either.
Duffy - Same old lovely touches, vision and passing. The predictable jink on the right foot was read a few times...maybe by Bladed supporting Hallam players. Still looks a class act and be sad if he does on as still think he could play a role but understand Wilders stance completely. Be sad if that's the last time we see him for United. Hope he bides his time as feel he will get minutes.
Clarke - Tried hard and not coasting but missed a hatful. Scored two but it should have been 6 or 7! He could still do a decent job at Champ level If he shows the appetite.
Sub:
Mousset - Firstly he is carrying a bit of weight but I also believe his build/statute is like that anyway to a degree. Reminded me of a slightly taller Nathan Blake (big backside!). His first shot was on its way to Forge Dam cafe but he grew into the game. He was always looking to receive it and either give it off or turn and run. Powerful and hard to shrug off when he does run with it and quick also despite the discussion on his weight. He has a rasping shot on him and a few tricks too. Played Leon in for a goal and had 3 or 4 efforts the keeper made great saves from. He also hit the post at the death. Great that he stayed on the pitch to take photos with about a 100 kids on full time. He seemed fine with it and quite a friendly chap as my son got his selfie with him!
Be the same folk who call Sharp fat, despite their barely being an ounce on him!I really do not see this ‘Mousset is carrying a bit of weight’ thing that some people keep peddling. Looked no different to anyone else playing.

Just his build , he's catching up on fitness but the boy can move when the foot goes downI really do not see this ‘Mousset is carrying a bit of weight’ thing that some people keep peddling. Looked no different to anyone else playing.
Much simpler. There is something quite peculiar about the negative undertones to the Mousset reaction. McBurnie’s barely done anything more than him for us in preseason and nobody bats an eyelid, and if he’d signed earlier and been as absent I doubt there’d be as much grumbling. It’s as though collectively a few have decided “well we’re quite happy with the signings as a whole, but we simply must take issue with one for tradition’s sake”.
That isn't good to hear Knowsnowt. Not proper Blades. On another note. If you were in the group by the corner flag (cricket pitch side) Constant needless swearing. Threats about what you were going to say to Duffy (and said fuck all when he found himself down there) slating the ground, dropping your rubbish and fag ends, and generally being twats. You're an absolute disgrace to SUFC.
Im guessing you're new glory hunting fans. Behave like that at the lane and you'll get yourselves twatted very early on.

Shame the amount of litter left around the edge of the pitch though

Not like the Premier League to bring in a new batch of chavvy cunts is it.....
And general cunts.
Look forward to plenty more stories like this throughout the season.
