I think Dowell is a very skilful player, he just doesn’t impose himself on the game for long enough. I think he needs to get a bit more aggression in his game, but he’s a quality player. But a bit of a luxury player.

McGoldrick gets through a lot more work and has good skills too, Just not clinical or selfish enough.

There’s summat wrong with all of em! But collectively they’re brilliant!

Needs to be stronger imo. Could be decent if he gained a stone in the gym in the summer to develop some real power

This. I'm not sure a Dowell, McG and Madine front 3 works, noone in that set up runs in behind. So for me, what you've suggested with either Didsy or Duff in the hole.

Agree, he has a lot to gain and very little to lose by gaining up to a stone in muscle.

I'd be happy for us to sign him if we don't go up. Might be available permanently.

When we've seen Dowell recently he's mainly been LM / LWB.

When we've seen him further forward he's not had Madine on the pitch with him. They've played well together away from home but haven't had the chance at home.

Dowell can't really do any less than Duffy has recently. And he'd have McGoldrick to help with the build up play, and could interchange with him.

I'd rather gamble on him than Hogan.

If cw plays madine , Hogan & diddsy in the 10 role it limits our striking options on the bench ( only washington available) for what its worth i think he will play madine & diddsy up top with duffy in the 10 role giving us Hogan dowell & washington on the bench if needed. UTB

I've gone for Johnson on the bench, mainly as he could drop in at LWB and we move Stevens to LCB, if required - not convinced by Bryan, but he could replace Stearman if required...I'd also prefer to keep McGoldrick up front, rather than drop him back in to midfield.

Prefer JL over Johnson on the bench tbh

Toss up between baldock / freeman.

McGoldrick will play behind Madine and Hogan.

Dowell on the bench to cover Enda should JOC get a knock. Duffy as another attacking option, Washington back up forward. Lundy / Coutts cover midfield, as does Dowell. Baldock or Freeman plus the keeper.

Went past the Lane today and saw Billy and Egan with matching protective boots on and Bash had a pink welly on. All 3 said it's precautionary so who knows ?
