A bit early, I know.
But one thing I’d like to see Chris reconsider is rotating the squad quite so much.
I’m not for one minute suggesting these were the final deciding factors, but I would question the wisdom on the following:
Defeat vs Forest - rested Leon who had just scored 4 goals in the previous two matches. Dangerous to take a player out of the team on such a rich vein, especially as Donaldson was coming back from injury. I don’t think this is a case of being wise after the event. When someone’s on fire you keep them in.
Defeat vs QPR - we were already without Fleck. As much as i like Brooks I don’t think resting Duffy was the right option. In resting Sharp as well, it effectively meant dropping the man of the match and goalscorer for a key away game.
Love Wilder but I do hope he can keep it simple in the coming months.
For Burton I’d be same as Hull unless Blackman is back or Baldock.
