We missed chances last night that Sharp would have taken.
I'd go Sharp and Washington to start.

Bring back Duffy and rest Freeman.

I'm no fan of Lundstram and cant say his appearance on the team-sheet filled me with confidence. However, he put in a confident performance, looked a lot fitter and sharper than usual. Kept the ball ticking over and provided the platform which allowed Norwood and particularly Fleck to influence the game further forward. His contributions in defence too cannot be overstated, providing much needed support to an under performing Freeman.

So, with no glasses on, I can confidently say he was a key contributor last night.

Disagree, if he hadn’t of played last night I’m still confident we would have still won the game.

Quite a valid point thinking about it ! Your post did make me laugh actually because I was singing his praises last night and yeah, why ?

Honestly mate it’s ridiculous. Because he didn’t drop a clanger and passed to a player in his team (the basic principle of football) people are now saying he had a good game. He was bang average. The game starts and every player is a 7/10. He stayed at a 7/10 which is fine and I’m happy about it, teams need steady eddies but to say he was a key contributor to last nights victory is miles off the mark!

Quite why people get hung up on who plays and who doesn't (especially with the squad these days), is way over my head.
Chris Wilder gets paid for that job so why the fuck should I worry who plays and who doesn't

As long as Freeman doesn't play. That's the main thing.

Any talk of not starting Sharp and Duffy is madness.

Washington has to come on (around 60 mins) and show us more of what he can do. I suppose the state of the game determines that though.

Hendo
Baldy - Bash - Egan - JOC - Stevo
Nozzer (Couts 80?) Flecky
Duffer (Washer 60?)
Sharper Goldilox (Clarky 70?)

Prediction: A very hard fought slender win in a very, very open game. Going for 1-1 at HT with a 2-1 win for the RAWW

Attendance: 29,046

Possession: 60:40

Can you be more specific?

But what I will say and I agree with HeCanDoMagic on this, is that he did look a lot leaner.

Off on a bit of a tangent here but the Norwood effect has even sidelined Coutts the magician when he comes on because Norwood is the key playmaker. Fleck still fits in well as he does run with the ball.
You can see why that Fulham side were so successful with Norwood last season. Quick and skilful attacking players with him providing the service.

So a player like Lundsrum is not going to look a world beater in that midfield as he isn’t given the ball enough to make an impact (whether positive or negative). Not making a mistake and being competent is all that was required and he did that. I also think he’s got the energy to get up and down the pitch quicker, which we may need on Saturday.

I’d bring Sharp, Duffy and Baldock in to replace McGoldrick, lundstrum and freeman.

Hendo.
Bash - Egan - JOC
Baldock- Norwood- Fleck- Stevens
Duffy- Washington
Clarke.

Can see Freeman getting replaced by Boldock. However, Freeman was involved in two goals last neyt soo....

So we've got suggestions of Sharp & Washington (my personal preference) Clarke & Washington, Mcgoldrick & Washington, Clarke & Sharp, and Sharp & Mcgoldrick.

All we need is someone to call for Mcgoldrick & Clarke and we've got Blades Striker Bingo!

Yes I agree with everything, except the safety committee and plod won't allow 29,046 into the stadium

Duffy plays, you play your best player in big games. Especially when he assisted 3 out of the 4 goals against them last year.

Washington didn't actually do much for the first hour on Tuesday, he came in to his own when Brentford were pressing and we were playing on the break. Whether he plays Saturday depends on what type of game you think it will be. At home we tend to have all the possession, even against the better sides, so I'd say it's not the type of game for him.

I think it will be..

.........................Hendo

...........Bash........Egan........JOC

Baldock. .........................................Stevens

.......................Norwood

...........Dufffy.......................Fleck

..,,,,,,,,......McG...........Washington

That’s Lundstrum losing his place but at home I think he will opt for the running of Duffy, Washington will probably keep his place after Tuesday but I feel he will be less effective if Leeds sit deeper than Brentford at the back. Also Sharp always scores against Leeds which may be another factor that could come in to the thinking.

Leon was selected ahead of Goldie for the Brentford game but then fell short of 100% fitness or wellness and thus reverted to the bench. Goldie had a poor one by his standards; Leon, though not fully fit, came on, contributed well and scored the winner in fine style. I've no doubt he'll start against Horrible Corrupt Leeds if fully fit. I suspect Sharp was told he'd be playing on Saturday at the same time as he was told he wasn't on Tuesday.

Why wouldn’t you try sharp and Washington?
I think Washington is tailor made for away games when there's loads of space behind the other teams defence and he can use his pace. I don't think that will be the case on Saturday. Just horses for courses.

Very sensible. Some of course will take personal offence if he thinks it fit to select a team that doesn’t feature their favourite Bladey Blade. That’s much more important than the team as a whole.

The Bladey Blade has a decent recent record against Leeds and he's our top scorer, so I'd give him a game if I were Wilder.

Bring it on, I am so looking forward to this. Neither team will sit back. Oh the joy.
