It's absolutely imperative that we try and keep a clean sheet. So I would go for the back five that started the season in strong fashion and the nearest thing we have to a Monty-type defensive midfielder in France.

(Tell Kilgallon to forget all about his contract until 1st January and concentrate on trying to impress the Premiership scouts if he wants a move that badly)

The "target man" system has been very successful away but it only works if we have pace on the flanks. So in the absence of Ward, it will have to be Cotterill and Treacey supporting Henderson up front, with Quinn and Harper getting forward from midfield where possible.

___________Bunn__________
Walker Morgan Kilgallon Taylor
__________France__________
_______Harper Quinn_______
Cotterill_____________Treacey
_________Henderson________

Subs:- Bennett, Stewart, Fortune, Little, Reid, Evans

Don't mind that - but can't see it
Can't see Harper playing after throttling Blackwell, allegedly
And think a few others who have questioned his management and tactics will also be bombed from the squad
So a team of yes men and hooooofers it is? ;) Phil Neal at right back maybe...?
UTB!

I think it's virtually impossible to guess the team tonight, all we can hope is that any spats and disagreements are put to one side. Unfortunately, history suggests that Blackwell tends to show who's boss by leaving people out. Having said that, it's in his interests to try and get the best team available on the pitch to get a much needed result.

Subject to any further injuries we don't know about, I don't think it'll change much from Saturday with France coming in for Davies, maybe Taylor for Stewart.

My only qualm with that would be Kilgallon playing. I'd personally have him transfer listed and nowhere near the first 11. I'd stick to your formation, but with Davies playing alongside Morgs.

Agree with all your other sentiments though Southall.

Too true matey. Reports are showing Harper is 'unavailable'. There are all sorts of stories floating around about Harper telling KB he was f-ing clueless etc. I don't know what to believe, but it's clear that thye have had words. For that reason Harper will not play. This leaves us really struggling in the centre of the park and KB might be forced to play 4-4-2. Or alternatively play a wide man inside. What about Reid? He was supposedly highly rated but hasn't had look in.

My team

Bunn

Walker Morgs Davies Taylor
----------France-----------

Little Reid Quinn Treacy

Henderon

That is a very defensive formation. Cut out the errors. Keep it tight and nick on (hopefully). There is a chance Hendo might knock one in, Quinn dart into the box and get one, Treacy from distance or even Morgs from a set piece. But I agree with Southall, back to basics. Clean sheet is imperative. I don;t think anyone will care if we win ugly ..... as long as we stop the rot!!!!

I can't see him playing Cotterill at Blackpool, it's more likely that France will play at right back and Walker in midfield. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Fortune get a game.

I think Blackwell must have killed an albatross or something pre-season with all these injuries.

For me, "back to basics" also means forgetting any contract negotiations/petty squabbles and picking the best players available in their best positions. Blackwell simply can't afford to leave Harper and Kilgallon out in the middle of a partially self-inflicted injury crisis.

If Harper is genuinely "unavailable" through injury, I would reluctantly play either Stewart or Little in his position instead.

Whether Blackwell has had a spat or not he needs his best team out tonight against a team undefeated at home and sitting fifth in the league.

Given that teams in the CCC are all going to lose games, perhaps all managers should be hired on weekly contracts and then clubs can change managers after every loss and make fans happy - fire away happy campers. Oh what a joy life would be.

A spat with Blackwell perhaps the reason Harper ran to the travelling fans and threw his jersey to them he knew Blackwell won't be playing him he was saying goodbye I hope this is just a rumour.

They've had a ruck - see if they've patched it up but they've DEFO had a fall out

Thank goodness he is in the starting lineup ,patched it up or there was nothing to the rumour. We need everyone at them tonight this will be tough,Whats up with Blackpool seven changes from saturday. Its time we stopped someones unbeaten home record.

Squad for tonight according to the OS:

Bunn, France, Morgan, Kilgallon, Henderson, Cotterill, Harper, Taylor, Cresswell, Quinn, Walker.
Subs: Evans, Williamson, Bennett, Stewart, Little, Treacy, Fortune.

Actually going to make Williamson earn his pay, good to see a returning player it might give the team a lift seeing him and Cresswell back into it.UTB!
