To answer the OP.

Ideal game for Arblaster to get more match-speed.
Seriki i'd like to rest. If Sachdev isn't fit enough - maybe the Bulgarian?
McGuinness should definitely play.
Sasnauskas played a lot pre-season. If Zatterstrom is off out on loan, he can't play.
Burrows needs to find his mojo again.
Matos - although available for transfer, he won't be joining a team expected to go far in the Cup, so might aswell play him
Chong needs game time.
Marsh deserves a chance from his u21 apps.
Campbell needs his mojo back

I'd like something like this:

Faxon
Sachdev - McGuinness - Sasnauskas - Burrows
Arblaster - Matos
Chong - Marsh - Hampson
Campbell
Decent mix of youth looking to break into the first team, players being eased back from injury and senior players needing to find form.

I'd expect players that have been on the fringes to start. And one's that just haven't been starting as much (Hamer and Burrows for instance)

Would expect Davies to play in goal. And would expect to see a young un or two on the bench.

Davies,
Sachdev, McGuinnes, Zatterstrom/Mee, Burrows
Ukaki/Chong, T.Davies, Arblaster/Peck, Hamer
Ings, Campbell

Why would we field a weaker side at all? They’ll of had almost 2 weeks off then a week before game after, if at least for match sharpness we’ll need the main team in
It will be 1 week and 3/4 days off. After playing 4 games in 12 days.

Given the weather forecast for Thursday night/ Friday, I will be amazed if this game goes ahead, apparently we are due a lot of snow which I wouldn’t have expected to clear by Sunday. UTB

Full-strength side, less those that are carrying knocks. For those talking about putting a 2nd string out and resting players - what are you resting them for? FFS, we're 16th in the league and need to treat this competition seriously.

Go and get a win with the best 11 available should always be the mandate, no matter the competition, that’s how a good culture grows. I don’t actually think there’s many United players atm not featuring at all, treat it as a league game and get stuck in and win by 4/5. We all know more than most, Clough is a cup master, and if we field a weakened side I for one am having a couple of quid on Mansfield.

I hope we realise that despite possibly having a much stronger team than them whoever we field, if you randomly throw together an 11 who haven’t played together this season, we will likely look shit and lose.

What are we classing as a "weakend team"?

My 11 for this fixture is full of players who haven't played much and coming back into fitness. I've left out 12 main players.

Not exactly a weak side is it?
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Faxon

Shackleton McGuiness Mee Burrows

Davies Arblaster

Hamer Chong

Ings Cannon

If he hasn’t gone out on loan, I would play One just for the experience, is Beattie fit ? As that could be a good one off the bench. I would start Faxon too, it’s now or never to see if he can be at least backup material next season

It’s telling how many would start Hamer in the cup when a year ago he would probably be the first player you would save for the league

(4-4-2)
Faxon
Hoever McGuinness Mee Burrows
Chong Arblaster Soumare Hamer
Ings Campbell

If Peck is fit for Charlton we could make 11 changes for the league and still put a team like this out against Mansfield.

Would expect plenty of changes , heard this strong side line before but truth is it rarely happens. An away win Sunday would be no surprise

Could be wrong but from memory the only fa cup run under wilder was a 5th round at Leicester.

We actually made back to back QFs under Wilder in 2019/20 and 2020/21! But COVID kicked in so neither were played in front of fans (Arsenal at home, Chelsea away - Wilder had left the week before the latter but been in charge the previous round).

Remember being absolutely buzzing for that Arsenal game. Cheers sons crying now

i think all the fringe players will start this one with plenty of quality on the bench just in case things go pear shaped which they usually do in the cup but this could be a good season to have a crack at the cup with not much expectation in the league
