Give Diego a run of games and watch him fly.... To Italy at the end of the season.

My two pennorth:
NC has to pick a team with half an eye on Tuesday - and a quarter of an eye on next Saturday: it's about more than the next game.

For me:

Howard
Brayford Kennedy McEverly Harris
Basham Coutts
Davies Reid Murphy
Done

My Team would be:

GK- Ian Turner-played well against Swindon, Mark isn't doing very well.
RB John Brayford (c) - key player, best player
CB Basham - Seems to be a key member of the defence
CB Kennedy- Mcevely needs a break
LB Harris - Either him or Freeman
Rm Murphy- Seems to do better playing on the right
Cm Baxter - plays better in a deeper role
Cm Reed - he is frankly better than Doyle
Lm Che Admas - needs a run of games
CAM - Scougall - I believe this is his best position
ST- Matt Done - I have a feeling he will start, also seemed to do well at Rochdale in the League. Additionally his height is desperately needed in attack because at the moment all crosses fail and we lose the ball from every goal kick.
This is the team i'd play!!

....................Howard
Brayford, Basham, McEverley, Harris
..............Doyle, Coutts
Adams.......Scougall.........Murphy
.....................Done.......................

That's my guess at the team, though I would prefer Kennedy to McEverley and possibly putting Murphy in Scougalls position and playing either Flynn or JCR on the wing.

I'll make a start:

Howard
Brayford, Basham, McEveley, Harris
Murphy

beyond that, who knows.

Given that we now have at least 18 players fighting for the remaining 12 spots (bearing in mind he has to pick defensive and keeper cover on the bench), if he goes with the new boys, I'm struggling to see how the likes of Davies, JCR and even Flynn, Baxter and Scoogs are going to fit in.

It's OK having basically 2 decent teams now and we will need to rotate with 2 games a week but there's going to be some old faithfuls such as those mentioned above who aren't going to make the matchday squad on Saturday.

My main worry is that Reed will get pushed aside because we have to build around him for this / next season IMO. Clough's job may be made a bit easier if we have a tough game tonight, extra time etc but he's given himself big headaches for the rest of the season by bringing in several players in similar positions.

My preferred team would be:

Howard
Brayford Basham McCeveley Harris
JCR Reed Coutts Murphy
Done McNulty

Subs:- Turner, Kennedy, Flynn, Freeman, Baxter, Adams, Holt

Regrettably, we are more likely to see our usual ineffective 4 - 5 - 1 with Scougal getting the shirt again.

Team for Saturday . No idea . Just hope Mr Clough has.

Scougall a doubt, and I think Flynny will be rested for a couple of weeks so I think he may go with this:
Howard
Brayford Basham. McEverley Harris
Coutts Doyle
Davies/JCR Baxter Done
Murphy

Howard
Brayford Kennedy Basham Harris
Coutts Doyle
Flynn Scougall Murphy
Done

Subs: Turner, McEverley, Freeman, Reed, Adams, JCR, Higdon

Howard
Brayford, Basham, Kennedy, Harris
Coutts, Reed
Davies, Done, Murphy
Higdon

Brayford to make runs, interlocking with Coutts and Davies. Harris and Murphy unlocking on the other side.
Higdon to lay off balls for Done and Murphy or recieve good cosses or deadballs from Davies.

Turner, Freeman, Scougs, Doyle, JCR, Adams, MM,

My team - not his obviously :(
McCeveley has to be dropped after repeated mistakes.
Doyle was truly awful by even his shocking standards on Tuesday.
New bloke has to play.
Flynn out re tendon problems.

Murphy and Done alternating wings and up front.
Adams unlucky and first change for genuine 451/433
Even swap for Scougs to go genuine 4-4-2! at some stage?
McNulty may get some service with this team.

Howard
Brayford Magahey Kennedy Harris
Murphy Reed Basham Scougall Done
McNulty

Subs:- something like Turner, Allcock, Freeman, Davies, JCR, Adams, Diego
That many players :(

Howard
Brayford, Basham, Kennedy, Harris
Doyle, Coutts
Reed
Murphy, Adams, Done

A lot of discipline and hard work in defence and midfield...contrasting with pace, fluidity and movement up front.

I'm surprised how many suggested teams don't include Adams.

If he is given a run of games I could see him being the answer to our goal scoring problems. Plenty of pace, good first touch and very confident. If we're a team that hits others on the break, he should be starting every week. He's eighteen - plenty old enough.
