And I specifically mean Boro and Neil Warnock and NOT just any next game.
Looked at the fixtures last night and been worried about it ever since.
We have been poor in the air since we lost OConnell and two at the back is not helping at all.
I think we must switch to 5 again at Boro with Basham and his height hopefully preventing us from another Blitzkrieg aerial devastation as we suffered at WBA.
Neil's not the best manager in the world but he can organize, get a team to compete physically and utilize long throws and dead ball situations.
I'd also use the height and physicallity of the Algerian lad to help combat it, leaving Norwood out.
Wondered what others are thinking ahead of two vital games before another shitty break.
And no. I wouldn't play McBurnie up front - in any circumstances in any team - so that we can use his height in defence.
And yes I know it won't happen because managers are so set in their ways it's beyond belief.
Perhaps this is a test of Slav as well?
And yes I CAN see us winning 4-0 rather than losing 4-0 but we will have to 100% everywhere from the start and how often does that happen in a season?
Anybody any stats on Neil v Slav fixtures in the past?

Erm you've created a poll without the formation we've played the last 4 games that has got us 10 out of 12 points 🤔

Are you also so set in your ways beyond belief as well, going on your comments regarding McBurnie, I agree to an extent about our lack of height at corners and throw ins, Preston was another example but Slav likes to go the way of OK you score two we'll score four, play to our strengths, Norwood deserves to play.

Even though Norwood played really well yesterday, I would consider starting Guedioura in his place, as I reckon it will be more of a scrap in the middle and we might need Addy's bite and mobility in there. He also has a decent passing range on him, so I don't think we would be losing anything.

It might also be a good game for Stevens to start over RND.

Otherwise unchanged

Riverside stadium for the last 2 maybe 3 games has been a bit of a bogey ground for us. Lost 3-0 and 1-0 in our last 2 games there.

Personally would trust the same players that started against derby with Stevens possibly replacing RND

Stevens for RND.
If Berge is fit I’d play him instead of Ndiaye. As good a talent as he is he gets pushed off the ball very easy, I’d save him for Bournemouth

I would largely like to see the line up, we had at the weekend with the return of Stevens. But a lot of games stacking up and Bournemouth at the weekend, so if we need to rotate Ndiaye ( I dont know, just speculating), then I would see Boro as the best game to use McBurnie and whatever your opinion on him, we will need to use him at somepoint until when/if McGoldrick/Mousset are ever fit. If Berge is also actually match fit, I would still like to see the second forward on the pitch versus Middlesbro and have Berge back in for Bournemouth, where the midfield battle will be more key.

3-0 down after 25 mins last time. If we lose, let's remember 3 years ago a hefty defeat at the Riverside proved to be a brilliant way of kicking off a successful promotion campaign.

There fans aren’t confident at all. A few saying we could retire Warnock if we beat them…..

And tbh that 3-3 with villa was just as key, think we got 7 clean sheets in a row with only 1 of them being a 0-0 against pigs and rest of them were wins

He is resting for the internationals, that's all he is bothered about. He may grace us with a couple of 20 min cameos to get match fit. Then come back and get a strain.

Eesh. Brutal take. I'm also not convinced his heart has always been in it, mind.

Olsen
Basham. Egan. Davies
Baldock. Guedioura. Fleck. Stevens
MGW. Sharp. N’Diaye

Need a back three with Basham to deal with Boro’s aerial threat
Absolutely no way you can leave Osborn out. Stevens and Osborn down the left are an excellent combo at Championship level

I've got no doubts whatsoever Colin, or for those who find that offensive, Mr Wanker, will deploy tactics to expose our lack of a dominant centre half. Is our play good enough to negate that? I doubt it.

I'd defo play 5 at the back on Tuesday.

We’re a better side than Boro, play the same side but bring Stevens in for RND to see if he can regain his old championship form, RND still has a lot to learn and would benefit from a few games on the touch line.

These next couple of away games will tell us a lot more in terms of expectations for the season after a shite start to it.

A game for McKnob to play at CB and Adele to battle in MF + help defend the aerial bombardment which Colin knows will rattle us.
No point including Berge - despite him being 3" taller than McKnob + a whopping 7" taller than Adele , my Grandma would never lose a headed challenge against him.

And I'm 63 , so my Grandma isn't exactly match-fit

Play the same team that won our last away game.
A lot of people have this "don't change a winning team" mentality but we need to look at how individual players performed and how we can improve. We've started winning, but have only won convincingly twice against struggling teams (Hull and P'bro). and had fairly even games v Preston and Derby, which yielded four points. There's a lot to be said for a settled team, but for me Berge (if fit) and Stevens should start v Boro.
