Ramsdale
Baldock Basham Egan Robinson Stevens
Bogle Ampadu Osborn
McGoldrick Burke

Best back 6 we have available.
Norwood, Fleck both absolute favourites but both way off it at the moment.
Mousset would still say can't play a full match so on the bench.
Brewster looks lost - on the bench.
McGoldrick only guaranteed starter up front but Burke is an outlet which we'll need v Everton
Midfield looks thin but it's the best we have.

Baldock Egan Robinson Stevens
---------Bash----Ampadu---------
----Bogle---------McGoldrick----
------Burke-------Mousse--------

Bash and Ampadu shielding the back 4.
Balls into the channels to exploit Burke and Mousset's pace.
Bogle going box to box.
Didsy doing a Duffy.

Ramsdale

Bash Egan Robinson

Baldock Ampadu Norwood Fleck/Osborn Stevens

Didzy Burke

The thinking behind Norwood is his ability to ping in over the top or into channels for Burke to stretch Everton. If him and Ampadu playing deep, it might give Baldock and Stevens a little more confidence to push on.

I really think he needs a chance. I have been critical of Burke, but he played wel today. Just worried about his poor finishing. When Brewster comes good, he will get us some goals.
What makes you think Brewster will get goals??

Who knows, but his past record isn't bad. Personally I think he should be given half a dozen games to prove himself.

He is a striker who cannot shoot straight. Look how many he has scored in the last 3 years and how many mtches he has played.

Brewster shouldnt be starting games right now, i genuinely feel sorry for him at the minute, he looks lost. Burke i agree with, we carry far more threat with him in the starting 11.
The threat of miscontrolling or shooting over or wide

I think he's probably been used out wide a lot, so that might explain his lack of goals.
Hopefully he's a better finisher than he's shown so far, but his pace, work rate, and link up play is good, and for once we had a threat in behind and on the counter, and causes defenders problems.

I mean there is definitely that threat. But his pace is something defences need to account for, and thats something we struggle with hugely.

Plus he does use the ball quite well, and tends to create chances.

-Ramsdale
Baldock Basham Egan Stevens
Ampadu
Bogle - Osborn
- McGoldrick. -
Burke - Brewster

Or could go 4-4-2 narrow diamond

For me, I would take a lot of heart out of our battling performance. Never done one of these, but I would go with:

------------Ramsdale
Baldock Egan Robinson Stevens
------------Ampadu
---------Bogle Bash Osborn
---------McGoldrick Burke
Its weird because thats a midfield of defenders, but thinking about it I think I like it.
The right looks very strong and I think the left is much stronger (going forward and defending) too.

Plus, Bash is our best box to box player we have. The guy makes goal line clearances, goes on windy runs all over the pitch, and crosses and creates as good as anyone.

Dids and Burke aren't goal machines but they do complement eachother. Plus, if anyone can thread a pass into space for Oli to run onto, its McGoldrick.

Everton will likely play a 4-3-3. The threat will come down the wings from Iwobi and Richarlison both feeding the in form DCL. One way of winning this game is to exploit the lack of pace from their two CH’s Keane and Mina. We could sit deep and contain, invite them to play a high defensive line, then get in behind them on the counter.
Having said that... another way is the high press! And it’s the option I prefer. We are the home team. It shows more endeavour, rattles their defence and creates chances. The best form of defence is attack. Plus I’ve never been a fan of inviting the opposition onto you, it’s asking for trouble!
In all honesty I expect our formation and tactics to change throughout the match. I’d start like this... high press

————Ramsdale————
——Bash—Egan—Robbo—
Baldock—Ampadu—Stevens
—Bogle—————Osborn—
———Didzy——Burke———

Everton may be forced to do some rotation, as they are playing tonight, and play Man City two days after us.

We need to get the ball on the deck, brewster will score goals if we get it down and play, we can't keep lumping it long, we need to utilise the 2 quick forwards and mcgoldrick's craft

For me

Ramsdale

Baldock
Bash
Egan
Robinson
Stevens

Ampadu
Norwood

Mcgoldrick

Burke
Brewster/moose

Can’t disagree mate. That was pretty much my thoughts. Bash seems like one of the few players who can carry the ball and now we have lost Berge we need someone who can do it. Bogle was great last game and without lunny we need legs down the right.
still might lose but gotta go down fighting.

I didn't realize Everton are playing Manure tomorrow in the ELF CUP , might be good for us , we really need to win this match with Burnley winning last night .

Protection for backline with Norwood+Ampadu. Norwood gets us on the ball more. MCG and Burke (and Brewster) to interchange to cause them problems.

Shame fleck so out of form...

yes think i would keep bash in midfield while not as skilful as berge one thing he does do in that position is move the ball forward most of the time

I think that is what I would go with.

Very forward thinking but the forwards need to work their bollock off for 60 and then expect to be hooked
