4-4-2:-
Long
McMahon Collins Maguire Hill
Flynn Doyle McGinn Brandy
Baxter Taylor

Subs:- Howard, Westlake, McGinty, Coady, Cuvelier, Miller, King

I was going to say I find it hard to see what Baxter has done to be in the team, but then I consider that really there aren't many better options. Miller still not fully fit, King looking disinterested (and unfit as well), Coady perhaps too negative a choice, Cuvelier has done nothing of note. The only player I might be tempted to go for instead is Murphy. Whilst he has been terrible so far in his SUFC career, he has not been tried through the middle or upfront as far as I can recall and I think he wouldn't be a bad option alongside Taylor's newfound energy.

It will be interesting to see what kind of formation and team Clough plumps for.

Don't see how you can drop Coady after his performance against Peterborough, I don't think he's negative at all. He brings the ball up the pitch well, has a good range of passing and links the play. I'd like to see us stick with the 4-3-3 when attacking/4-5-1 when defending that we had on Tuesday.

How highly rated is Coady at Liverpool? Can the fact that he's not become a regular yet increase the chance that he may be available for a permanent signing in January? Would we like him to sign permanently?

he`d be a 3 million pound player bergs.
so what do you think?

I didn't go to Peterborough but I have seen absolutely nothing from Coady yet that would make me want us to sign him.

If miller could do an hour I would start him. Its against his former club after all

Can you two come to an agreement over his market value, please?

I doubt he would sign a permanent contract with us Bergs. Unless he was in his last year & Liverpool told him to move on.

How long does he have on his contract? Isnt he highly rated over at Anfield?

As it stands I don't see why he should be worth any more than say 300k, but transfer fees for young English midfielders seem to get inflated more than any others so he is probably valued at around a million?

I wouldn't mind seeing Murphy over Brandy, he did well when he came on and would be better if he played in a 4-3-3 so got the ball higher up the pitch.

Please tell me that's a joke. Murphy has been bloody awful every time I've watched him this season. Despite the fact that I think there's a good player in there somewhere, I've seen nothing to suggest I would have him playing instead of Brandy.

It'd more just be to try something different and show Brandy he needs to start contributing more like I'm sure he has the ability to do.

At the moment,Brandy is flattering to deceive and is finding it hard to positively contribute to a game. On Tuesday in particular McGinn twice pointed to him where he was to pass the ball (behind the full back) and Brandy just stood off still waiting for the ball. After the 2nd occasion,Moran dragged him off.

The fact that Flynn from an attacking and defensive point of view, and Murphy for the short time he was on,were more effective than Brandy on Tuesday maybe shows he is lacking in confidence at the moment. However,if henwore some boots to stop him slipping it might help him. He then might even learn to cross a ball.

After all that,I would be tempted to still start with the same team as Tuesday as we looked dangerous on the break and played some good football at times. However,I suspect Coady will be left out for King

I would leave out Doyle (despite scoring a fine winner last week) and Flynn.

Brandy, Coady, McGinn, Baxter (or Murphy)

Taylor King.

Miller on when King tires (10 minutes!)

Brandy started the move for our opening goal of the season, he set up King's goal against Crawley and has been one of the only players capable of putting defences on the back foot in games. He's largely responsible for half of our points total in terms of passes/assists. Tell me anything Murphy has done.

4-4-2 for me today:-

Long
McMahon Maguire Collins Hill
Flynn McGinn Doyle Brandy
King Taylor

Subs:- Howard, Westlake, Coady, Cuvelier (if fit), Baxter (if fit), Murphy, Miller

Can understand where you're coming from but I think Murphy has a lot to do before he's proved worthy of a start.

Brandy is just one of those players. Explosive one minute, frustrating the next. Flair players are all like that. My point of view is that if the attitude and effort is there (always seems to be with him) then you have to play him because he's a potential match winner and we don't have many of those.

I don't understand why anyone would want to start King, he's far to unfit and other than scoring a good goal hasn't offered much. I'd start with 1 up top then bring on Miller.

He will only get fit enough by playing and has the experience to get into the right areas. You're not the only one saying he shouldn't play but this is why we fans aren't managers. We scream for a player to be dropped after one or two under par performances.

My better judgement says the same.....drop Doyle, play McGinn and Coady. I heard Doyle did better the other night against Peterborough and as he's captain I would be tempted to persevere a little longer, but he must do so much more as the skipper.

I think, like other midfielders before him, he does his limited best..,.,but it's not good enough.
Off to Lane now, rooting for a 3 point outcome!

Pleased to say I thought King proved me wrong today although I'd still like Taylor/Miller once Miller's fit with King being a good option off the bench.

I think the manager will try something completely different to what any of us are suggestion. Could see him going out and signing another striker. He may even make more use of Porter's services.
