Why shouldn't players be allowed to use social media? Just because they are in the media spotlight does not mean they cannot access facebook and twitter. Whilst we are at it, why not suggest they have no friends outside the football club, do online grocery shopping and never under any circumstances visit a public house. You cannot tarnish all players with the same brush.
Jess Ennis is on Facebook and twitter I think. She is also in the media spotlight so shall we ban her too?

I think people get carried away nowadays with celebs and sports people putting anything on social media. I think we're all too sensitive.

Personally I think anyone in the public arena needs to tone it down a little, it's double standards but I don't think they should be putting certain things on social networks.

But in this case he's a young lad who's moved to a new city and it's mates having some crack with him, fair enough, but really, keep it to yourselves. If people are offended then either complain to him or don't follow him. It's that simple.

Final point, if footballers want to be the latest Gazza or George Best with their off field exploits then they need to be untouchable on the field, otherwise they'll just get shite for this sort of stuff. Any excuse for fans to have a go!
