His job is already under threat, that doesn't mean we should blatently ignore anything that doesn't fit with our opinion of the bloke.

The style of play is never going to improve without a settled side and without players given an opportunity to become comfortable on the ball rather than fearing being in possession.

The style of play is often talked about when I've evidently seen a different game entirely. Once again the "over his head" excuse has been trotted out for Harper. Was the same with Brian Howard. Truth is, he's just struggling to impose himself on a struggling midfield. He's more comfortable telling the others around him what to do, than taking responsibility himself and making space/getting a foot on the ball.

The break point is simple, if he doesn't improve things, he will be gone. No where near as short term as many think.

The slight glimmer of hope for me, is that there are a few encouraging signs which simply weren't there before.

A good run of luck during the break and we may see things starting to turn.
Foxy,

How about you, Peter and the Lost Boys go rescue Wendy?

Ignore my opinion all you like, I went to Oakwell not to watch remember, just like all the other places I've closed my eyes all season.

I'm clearly not worthy of having an opinion.

While in the main I would agree with what you have said my concern is that I can see the play off positions disappearing fast. Hopefully come Peterborough we will have Monty and Naysmith back which will seriously stiffen our backline and give our forward something to work with.
One concern I do have is that Blackie doesn't seem to have faith in his signings. Williamson on the bench again while playing Quinny, a half fit Wardy playing instead of Cotts both players Blackie has spent decent money on and that's before we get onto Bennett playing instead of his choice for Paddy's replacement. All that while leaving Reid out of the equation.
I think he has a couple of games grace left but these types of signings leave me worried this coupled with his playing style and general demeanour give me big doubts. Basically his results were all he had me supporting on, and they are slipping.

So which ten players would you bring in to mould around Monty ? :D
Whoever Mr. Coppell wanted. If that included Monty, fine. You see, unlike Blacko, he knows far more about football than I do. A bricky who played part-time for Scarboro' reserves. Who would ever have dreamed he could manage at this level? Those who did will get a rude awakening before much longer!

It is, but he was only there due to the injuries we've had and then went off injured himself. But I forgot, we're supposed to ignore that part of it.

Easy to say now he just has, and I'd suggest been thrown straight into 45mins of a derby is a big ask, given that he's lucky to even be playing again.

You are having a laugh. Maybe a fully fit version of them, having actually played together before and not losing two of them through injuries on 45 minutes.

Foxy I cannot type and think fast enough. I am not having a laugh, walker, davies and killa were all fully fit, fortune was probably 80% at worse
I will not defend the indefensible like you are trying to do. PM if you fancy a pint (i will buy) I would enjoy a half hour chat and a handshake before the Scunny game
UTB
Off to bed now ..night

I think it would be safe to assume that Mr Coppell really wouldn't be interested in the job.

Pressure, expectation and moving north are three reasons why I don't there is a hope in hell .

Because Bun was brought on for an injured player ?
I'm no keeper but we were lucky to keep it at two with Bunn In goal.He was a mile away from the first goal which a lot of keepers (dare I say Paddy and Benno) would have stopped.
Do you not think the team we put out tonight ,on paper was (should or have been) stronger than the one Barnsley put out?

Rubbish, their first goal was unstoppable.

Peterborough even

It's a literary analogy: It means he believes in fairy tales. Nothing more nor less than that.

Very patronising in my opinion.

He's been to the match and had his say on his forum.

He was there.....saying as he saw.....not a fairy tale in my opinion.

is it beyond certain fans to think that with the injuries that we have, and yes you can ignore them if you want but that wont make them go away, is it not more prudent to get behind the team instead of berrating the manager?

Lets get our team back to what we know we have and everyone fully fit. If following this we then do not improve our performances and get the results that we know we are capable of, then by all means call him what you want and call for his head. At this point he will have been found wanting.

Lets be real, you cant blame him whole for the situation we are in. Yes we should have a bigger squad, and yes you can point the finger at him for not bringing in more players on a permanent basis, but the unjuries themselves are far from his doing.

To be fair to Bunn there wasn't a lot he could do with either goal, yes I agree everytime they came at us I'm worried about the potential mistake he's going to make.
Why oh why do we not have a midfield, quinn has some infection or other last week, if he was that bad has he made a full recovery, it didn't look like it to me, he was like the invisible man AGAIN, too weak, not creative, missing for too long, we need a big clear out in Jan starting with fatwell

Cant I get behind the team and Berrate the manager??

They, to me, are two separate entities.

He also has to take the lions share of Blame for our situation. Hoof it towards Hendo, Fould given, ball comes back. Wonder what he'll do now Hendo misses the next match

Blackwell plays pressure football, by giving the opposition the ball to pressure us.

quality.. absolute fucking quality mate.. <ale>
my breaking point for what it's worth bob. was at the burnley away game last season!every time we had the ball we hoofed it straight down the middle.. by the middle of the game their defence was organising itself ready for the kick.. if you kick the ball up in the air to a defender like carlisle he will eat you alive.. it was so dumb i couldn't believe it.. yet we did it 'all' of the match
