i could not agree more, Alien..the team may have been short of players but who is telling them to play like that? they are scared of the ball. Anderson or colace or hammill...just 3 players i have piced quickyl who were better on the ball than any of ours....hendo two pens but what was he playing at tonight...

I'm no keeper but we were lucky to keep it at two with Bunn In goal.He was a mile away from the first goal which a lot of keepers (dare I say Paddy and Benno) would have stopped.

After taking off an injured centre back who was playing at left back due to injuries, replacing him with a left back who hasn't played for 15 months, has little of his knee left and was very unlikely to ever play again. You know, next to the centre back who is just on his way back from a ruptured achillies, next to the other centre back who was struggling to even jog.

It has individuals who should be capable of pushing Barnsley, but wasn't helped in the slightest with a patched up defence and then losing two players. We were leaky enough at full strength for christs sake.

His job is already under threat, that doesn't mean we should blatently ignore anything that doesn't fit with our opinion of the bloke.

The style of play is never going to improve without a settled side and without players given an opportunity to become comfortable on the ball rather than fearing being in possession.

The style of play is often talked about when I've evidently seen a different game entirely. Once again the "over his head" excuse has been trotted out for Harper. Was the same with Brian Howard. Truth is, he's just struggling to impose himself on a struggling midfield. He's more comfortable telling the others around him what to do, than taking responsibility himself and making space/getting a foot on the ball.

The break point is simple, if he doesn't improve things, he will be gone. No where near as short term as many think.

The slight glimmer of hope for me, is that there are a few encouraging signs which simply weren't there before.

A good run of luck during the break and we may see things starting to turn.

We were stretched defensively for gods sake because the Barnsley manager used the midfield effectively(which our manager cannot do)and streched out wide.
Come on mate Barnsley would have love to have had our defence tonight ... their decent manager would even have had them defending correctly

Easy to say now he just has, and I'd suggest been thrown straight into 45mins of a derby is a big ask, given that he's lucky to even be playing again.

You are having a laugh. Maybe a fully fit version of them, having actually played together before and not losing two of them through injuries on 45 minutes.
