Wanktanga is an absolute liability. He’s a headless chicken. Just a more athletic version of Robbo.
Incapable of reading a game, very poor positionally, rash in his decision making, no composure.

Maldini used to say that if he had to make a tackle it meant he’d made a mistake.
Based on that watch how many mistakes Wanktanga makes

Good God that is an absolutely brilliant summary of what I saw at Millwall before we signed him. Fuck knows why we signed him other than, at the time, desperation. What a state this club is in from owners down through the manager to coaching and recruitment staff.

Somebody needs to come in and accept the short term pain and clear all this dross out and start again.

And no……I haven’t got the funds to do it and I don’t know who might have.

Bit harsh. Not many defenders are in the same bracket as Maldini.

Gi' o'er.

Maybe one might have been back by now had he been brought off immediately when injured rather than given some "run it off Son" minutes?
I thought at the time, why bring Seriki on with not long to go in the Mickey Mouse cup. Game management, stick anyone there, it doesn't matter if we lose. Kinda Fleetwood.

Maybe we were but you can’t leave someone with that much time and space in the box.
But that’s just one game. I think he’s allover the place every game. Just don’t rate him
He's good at getting last-ditch blocks in, but for me he doesn't read the game well enough to be the defensive leader/organiser.

Choudhury has played RB plenty at this level for us, and for a Leicester team that won the division. He's played the position more than Tanganga has, I'm pretty sure. He's no more a 'square peg in a round hole' than Tanganga would be at RB. He's just not playing very well. If Seriki was fit, he wouldn't be playing at all.

And, when Wilder played Tanganga RB last year, he was crap and everybody complained he was being played out of position.
I just think he's poor all round!

The same "run it off son" minutes that helped keep Arblaster out for 13 months

You don’t have to be Maldini to take a couple of steps to the right for Pompeys winning goal 🤷‍♂️
None of that would have happened if we had a competent right back at kick off

Probably people that have a vested interest of male organ sizes 🤣🤣
No man has a bigger organ than Sir Richard.

Eh? You think having a better right back would make him see someone 8 yards away from him unmarked in the box?
He WAS the right back yesterday and still nearly cost us a goal. He’s an absolute liability

Although he has played at RB and did so at the start of MK3 of Wilder when we had Mee and Bindon, he wasn't convincing in that slot, when you look at the RB position and who we have for it, Shackleton (this seasons miracle man) out injured and has only played 20 times in 2 years, Doherty injured and played 2 times for us, Seriki injured since August.

In the U21's we have Sam Colechin as a natural RB and Ben Purches who is a CB/FB ex Bournemouth academy. Choudhary is not a RB but "can play there", like most footballers can play on a pitch somewhere. Over the 3 week international break, we knew we were only had Choudhary for the RB position, if we didn't think Colechin could step-up for a game or 2 whilst Seriki comes back due to the injuries that were outstanding, what was stopping us if we are insistent 4-4-2 (variations of) are the way forward of bringing a specialist RB in on a free, similar to like the 1st contracts of Jairo and Bamford were, until January. They would have had 3 weeks with the 1st team to get up to speed and we could have actually been playing someone fit for purpose.
I’m pretty sure we can’t add anymore players unless circumstances change.

You are permitted a 25 man squad though U21s don’t count but loan players do count regardless of age.

So, when you discount Oné and include Donovan, you hit 25. I don’t believe you can de-register a player between windows unless perhaps he/she is out for the season, perhaps or the scenario involves a goalkeeper.

In summary, I think that stops us.

That's fair enough in the sense it can't be done it answers the question. Seems pretty pointless for Wilder to be banging on about having a squad size of 22-23 players for this season when he was mentioning it and the signing of Ayew was one of them where we could have opened up a free slot almost as a, injury position player from the free market.
