Tanganga

I liked him initially, seemed to have a bit of aggression but he’s been really disappointing as the season has gone on. Seems to get smaller when he jumps.

I am holding on to the hope that, at 23, if he can be paired with somebody like Harry Souttar he could do us a job. Any talk of moving him on is fanciful, nobody likely to offer him the wages or anywhere close to clawing back some of the fee.

It is depressing after spending £13 million or so on two centre halves we will need to recruit another two this summer because they aren’t up to the job.

He was good at Millwall which says to me he needs an experienced player next to him to talk him through games. I was hoping he was that player. You're right: his positional sense is woeful. His concentration too. And for a big guy he's a bit nesh
Very rarely watched him at Millwall so I can't comment, thought he was shit at spurs in the games I saw and I just see him for us and think he's terrible

He's 27, so in reality at or approaching his peak.

With the right player alongside he's ok, to the same extent Jackie Longthrow was. With Bindon he looked ok defensively, with McGuinness less so. He needs to work on his passing through, every ball is played behind the receiving player, slowing down progression and allowing the opposition defence to reset.

He's absolutely not captain material though.

Is that you admitting you talk garbage? Long overdue.
Because I disagreed with you digging out a player mid match 2 months ago and you felt the need to bring it back up? shut up you clown.

Has he been good this season? No of course he hasn’t but you could say that and start a thread about pretty much the full squad if you wanted to, as they all underperformed or simply not good enough.

could swear somebody told me he was 23!🤣

Yeah a really strange choice for captain. I’m never usually that bothered who is captain and prefer to European approach of just handing the armband to the oldest player, but he really seems to offer nothing in the role.

Agreed with that in the sense of captain in football doesn’t really come with any responsibilities other than the coin toss. Any pro should be able to lead by example and also be competent in their duties

We should have gone for Jake Cooper, more a Morgan type player! (and would have cost a lot less)
Dunne Vesteegard cooper ... back 3 next season with mcallum who can jump higher than all them at lwb, add Crooks into midfield as well.... we might, just might be able to defend corners and actually score 1 or 2 ourself.

I wanted us to sign him... reality is, he's shite. Proper shite as well.

Hopefully someone we manage to move on, but as with most Summer signings - who's taking them?
Agreed, hes not very good is he and he looks like he has a right attitude problem.

What happened to us buying leaders from the league below? Mr T isn’t a leader, looks like he should be and can chuck a good tackle in know and again, but way too ratty, poor attitude, more money wasted. Sick of us signing players from teams that either have our pants down financially, or we get dross purely because they are available apposed to some sort of master plan.

But you were way off, called me out on it and are now sulking. An absolute embarrassment.

Like the ‘McAtee pants down’ thread you created? The fount of all knowledge?
He was pants, then improved. I’ve owned it. Maltby can’t even own he’s from Rotherham, let alone an opinion that’s worth a wank.

If you actually read the original comment all I said was you don’t hang around jumping on players do you given that’s your second one mid match. How that warrants being brought back up 2 months later I’ve no idea.
Calling me an embarrassment I’m not the one acting like a little kid trying to point score and cause an argument 🤣, time to fire up the ignore list.

He's not even footballer material nevermind captain material.

We should have signed Bobby Thomas instead. Thought so at the time and the season has vindicated it

But what a truly terrible mistake for him that would have been!

Not only is he one of the worst captains in our recent history it has effected his game and looks very unhappy .
I've being saying it all season (not a captain that is obvious to anybody)
and it has effected his overall game ! did Wilder make him captain on the back of that Boro performance(his only standout match for us ).
He must be better than how hes performed for us so why is he so poor ? Maybe not settled in the north! or in my opinion being captain has taken his focus away from his game .
I'm a Wilder supporter but feel he got this one wrong .
If kyleWalker and Phillips come in perhaps either one of those takes the mantle of captain ! It's certainly weighing heavy and needs a player who relished the role.

If Tanganga has to stay, and unfortunately that's very likely, then Liam Lindsay would be a very good partner for him

There aren't many who fit this niche better

Left sided, aerially dominant, experienced, leadership qualities

He's always impressed me, as a composed, solid defender who'd also suit the middle of a back 3 perfectly
