the captaincy needs taking off him for me its effecting his game ive a feeling wilder may give it to bamford next season

I’ve totally changed my mind on him.

I really wanted him. He was immense in that first game up at Boro but he’s gradually morphed into a mentally fragile, liability who looks like a total waste of money at this points

He’s either too rash or lackadaisical. Constantly trying to wrestle opponents instead of just playing ball. Always miss judges the flight or path of the ball.

He’s actually infuriating.

Time and time again balls go into empty spaces in our box exactly where he should be

He's no John Egan

He's not a natural defender, not a natural leader, and hasn't got the physicality to compensate either

And I don't think he wants to be here. Why would he?

Sell him if possible this summer. 4 or 5 million will do

No chance he's leaving, so no point talking about it.

I also wanted him in and was impressed at first, but he seems to be gradually getting worse. Sloppy passing, some poor decision making and doing nothing to lead the back line or those in front of him.

Pretty sure it was his man who was totally unmarked for their winner.

Said it many times but the number one priority this summer is getting in a physically dominant centre back. It's no coincidence that the best we've looked in this division was when Souttar was here.

Now we know we are definitely in this division next season Id play McGuiness for the rest of the matches. We need to see whether hes serviceable or not. I know most of us think not but hes 6'4" and hes ours for the foreseeable unless we are willing to take a massive loss on him.

dont you remember the stick Egan got on here

Millwall fans warned us he was nothing special, and it says a lot that they aren't missing him one little bit. He looked decent in this first few games for us then again McGuiness would make anyone look decent and Byndon was still finding his feet. His only good feature is he is a bit less likely than JLT was to get sent off. Never been a captain often loses his man (did so again today) and for a big bloke he is as weak as piss.

At times yes but I'm using Egan as an example of what Tanganga isn't

As an example of what we've been used to, but aren't getting from Tanganga, or anyone

We used to do the basics well, for years, and not give away many goals cheaply. Defenders where they need to be. We don't have that anymore. Instead we have defenders who crumble at nothing

His worst game so far, he needs an experienced head alongside him.

In some ways Mee was better for him than Bindon. Not that Bindon hasn't deserved his spot but he does lack experience.

Need to get Souttar back for next season, Tanganga would do well with a dominant CB next to him.

Get Soutts to bring Hamza with him as well (he didn't even get off the bench for Leicester today)

He had a £1.2 release clause for any premier league club that came in for him. There was a reason not one club came in for him for such a low price.
Only way one would go in for him is at that price they could potentially loan him out and make a profit. Bit like Bournemouth might eventually turn a profit with jebbison

I think the only position that suits him is the right center back as a three.

I thought technically he was going to be good with a ball but he misplaces so many passes

He’s been poor for quite a while.
I get the feeling we’ve conceded a lot of goals where a striker has got in between Bindon and Tanganga too easily.
Anyone got any stats on that?
Whilst Bindon is quite tidy, the two of them are not a complementary pairing. Both too weak for the physical battle (Wrexham twice). In this league you can’t do well if your CB pairing is a soft touch. That’s exacerbated by weak full backs. None of the back four are any good in a backs to the wall struggle. If we take any bite at all out of the midfield we’re as weak as piss and as easy to break through like a knife through butter. A long straight ball and we’re struggling to cope.

The person who left Windass unmarked was Burrows. Exactly like the first goal in the Playoff final, Burrows left his man and got sucked towards the ball. The ball immediately went where he had been, to an unmarked man. Burrows is great going forwards but a car crash in terms of defensive discipline.
