I’ve had the same view for ages, but yes, he’s appalling marking triggered my post. That doesn’t mean my view is wrong though.

My view on him is that he’s generally very solid at this level and far from an area of concern. No he’s not been great tonight though.

Ok… but considering what some were anticipating for me he’s been very disappointing, just less disappointing than some others. He shouldn’t be an automatic shoe-in though. He’s not a standout defender some lauded him to be.

It's a fair comment, for someone on £40k a week he is very very average, like you say no outstanding qualities

Like what others have said. He needs a commanding centre half next to him- not Tyler Bindon (who I won’t be sad to see the back of next season). Look at how he flourished at millwall next to cooper.

He was made Captain because he was our best player at the time, which many clubs often do, plus Robbo had just left and Blaster was still injured.

Agreed that him and Bindon could do with a Souttar type next to them, like Tanganga had with Jake Cooper at Millwall.

Just two of the things that need addressing in the summer, an actual Captain/leader and a suitable partner for Tanganga.

I have said before he is not a captain! Needs to concentrate more on his own game not fight battles for teamates.
If we can keep this squad together ( it's obvious some have to go) the key is the owners who will after shell out as parachutes are gone.

Millwall have not missed him either. I think he is good in recovery and one on one, but will need a strong all round partner next year. Tbh, we have shipped less goals when Mee has played this year, even is he struggled at times.
