Is Tanganga the worst captain we've ever had at the club? We've often had captains who lack ability but they've made up for that with fight, desire and heart but this guy offers nothing. He's often out of position and doesn't show the desire or knowledge to play the position. We will never have a strong defence when he is playing, we have heavily relied on Cooper so far this season. I've seen him save at least ten point blank opportunities.

No leaders on the pitch at all. Peck apart, and he's going through a rough patch, no one demands the ball. Too many hiding. Our lack of pace is alarming, little to no creativity and coughing up relentless chances for the opposition to score. Something's got to change, and quickly.

Awful captain

But who's kept him captain? Wilder

So what is Wilder playing at?

Is it just because he cost a big fee? Is it to create the perception that he's valuable, a bit like giving Cannon number 9?

I'm very surprised Wilder hasn't changed the captain. He should have done it at the first opportunity

Not sure if Tangy is a good leader or not, but on that second goal who in their right mind runs diagonally away from the player and ball it was baffling at the time looking from the Kop, but on replay it's plain mental. It's like a 6 year olds game and the kids have no idea what they are doing.

I think he's the perfect example of what a coaching wilderness (pun fully intended) we are. Players like him come in, look shit, move on, look decent.

Stick him in a well drilled, carefully coached side, with clear instructions of where to go, what to do when you get the ball - and he'd be excellent

Every time he gets the ball he treats it like i did when my wife gave me a dirty nappy to get rid of!

Not wishing to refute the general sentiment of the thread but Tanganga made at least two runs with the ball deep into the opposition half yesterday, which would be the equivalent of you running past the bin, out of the drive and up the road towards the public litter bin. Whether you then handed the soiled rag off to a colleague, who handed it off to another colleague, who then did the same, before it eventually ended up back with your wife and the baby, is a matter for further discussion.

Tanganga has a very short attention span. He loses concentration on numerous occasions during every single match. Fortunately for him, it doesn’t always result in us conceding a goal.

Higdon definitely a good shout for worst ever.

I've been a supporter for over 40 years, all our captains have given their all for the club despite not being the best player. Tanganga is by far the worst for effort I've ever seen.

It’s the modern way of supporting. Every defeat (I’ve heard people saying after a match) is the worst ever, football is the worst we’ve ever played, this is the last ever time I’m buying a season ticket, etc etc. I’ve heard it for decades, and I’ve read it on here for the same.

That's the worst post I've ever read.

He plays like he’s never been coached to play in a team of a system almost like he would be an absolute baller at 5-a-side… all the raw attributes but like he’s never taken on board any coaching

I'm not sold on him as a captain either. Comes across a bit as a try-hard. I remember in the friendly against Bochum when he was constantly yapping and complaining at the referees to the point where they were just rolling their eyes at him and I just thought "Relax, it's just a friendly" 😂

Maybe he's a leader in the dressing room, but on the pitch I don't see it.

Would like Bamford to be our captain again at some point.

Experience plus he has a bigger cock apparently.

Who to? You've just said there are no leaders on the pitch.
