Seems to have dropped to second choice striker behind Giroud (who has recently signed a contract extention) and with Chelsea getting Werner, Ziyech and seemingly now Kai Havertz in over Summer, he is unlikely to be starting league games next season
A bit inconsistent as a player but still has scored 14 this season and was looking particularly great in the first half - good pace and finisher which we are lacking (particualrly if the recent Mousset issues result in him leaving us over summer)
Could be a decent loan shout if Chelsea want to make sure he is playing regularly at the top level and as far as I understand it he's not on crazy wages at least by Chelsea standards (50k per week)

Said the exact same to myself yesterday! Would thrive at an unrivalled speed if he came on loan to us. Said before Covid-19 and the football gods intervened, if we had him up front, we finish top 4.

The Chelsea fans seem to be losing patience with him and I expect they will spend big on a striker in the Summer.

Listening to Lampard I think he really likes and respects Wilder.

I'm not completely writing this one off.

they already have? They signed Timo Werner

Out of our price range (even as a loan)
If Villa stay up then that would be his likely destination.

Just cannot see this, the london divide is bigger than you think, i would imagine he would rather plump for a club close by like Palace, or alternatively go back to JT at Villa, or Watford if they get him

With all indicators pointing towards a reduced transfer kitty and budget, it would seem unlikely that a stellar striker will be joining over summer but imagine what an Abraham or a Mitrovic would add to the side, especially if more creativity and suport was added to the midfield

Hm. There's some logic to this. Giroud is increasingly getting minutes, Werner and Ziyech are confirmed signings and Havertz seems to be on his way to Chelsea to join them. This will all take away playing time from Abraham, and there are already question marks over whether he is keen to sign a long-term agreement, with all of those things in mind.

On the other hand, he's under contract until 2023 and won't come cheap. I imagine they'd want £25-30 million for him if he did go. You could see Wilder trying to make a case to the Prince for a big striker being our next marquee signing. And you can see the Prince being keen on making a splash. But then you ask yourself, with that kind of money, is Abraham the one you want? To me, he's always been a product of his environment. He's scored goals in good teams that create chances. He's not a striker who particularly scares me, and if not much is happening around him he can be nullified. If we're going down the marquee, big-spending route, I'd prefer someone who forces the issue.

I can't see us signing him (he would be more than 25-30m anyway) but it's why I think loan could work as Chelsea presumably think he still has long-term potential (age 22) but this season has also shown he needs more playing time to develop as a footballer which he just isn't going to get next season with the quality of forwards they have signed like Werner. Agree that a London team or Villa (urgh) if they stay up might be better placed to pick him up on loan though.

Problem with signing a marquee striker is just the cost - e.g. Yorkshire Post this weekend saying Huddersfield have had a 15m bid for Karlan Grant! I can't really see us signing any forward that has a record of scoring goals in this division for a reasonable fee!

He only said a loan tbf, a permanent would be huge fee and huge wages. No chance at this moment in time at this stage in our journey.

A loan makes a lot of sense, he's not going to be loaned to any of their perceived 'direct rivals' for the CL, so the logical step is someone like us in that next bracket or a loan abroad.
He won't want to waste a season behind Werner put it that way

Getting a proven striker is

Hudders sayings they’ve had a £15m bid for Grant is like me saying I broke some top models lady parts to smithereens last night. It’s absolute bollocks.

My hope is Lampard was suitably impressed with us when we hammered them a couple of weeks ago. He would be a fantastic signing. I think a loan would be more palatable for everyone concerned.

Apologies, totally missed you'd said loan.

I think I'd rather we signed our main striker permanently. Funny you mention Karlan Grant as I'd be very happy for us to be after him at that price.

I thought about this guy last week when we played Chelsea. He would be a decent signing but I would be surprised if Chelsea agreed to a loan. If he is not part of their future plans then I don't see what they have to gain from loaning him again. He has already shown that he can score in the premier league.

A fair point but even though he's been around for a while, Abraham is still only 22 and will undoubtedly improve further. However, he won't do so whilst sat on. Chelsea's bench watching Werner and Giroud play.
Assuming he remains part of Chelsea's long term plans, another loan may be a sensible move. That said, if it was my decision I'd send him to get experience abroad. Most leagues aren't good enough (or could afford him), the play is too slow in Spain and Italy so I'd target Germany.
As much as I'd like him at BDTBUL, I don't think Utd would be a wise destination mainly because of the vastly different styles of play

He would be very shrewd signing even if he just came in on loan for one season. That said I do think Lampard still has plans for him and I think the player would be prefer permanent move away if he goes to another club.

I'd have Grant in a heartbeat as long as the price wasn't too high.

Good age, looked good in Udders relegation run in and has scored plenty in their bang average team this season.

He won't be on massive wages and at anything around the £15m mark I'd be making an enquiry.

He would play every game here.. Genuine talent who needs nurturing.

I know people think big clubs might hold Woodburn against us but look where he went on loan next anyway.

Henderson is a better example of how CW and AK can get the best out of youngsters. Deano has stuck with us, and even with an unfashionable pub side he's most peoples choice to be England's number 1.

Wilder will treat them like men not boys too. He will protect them if need be but come down just as hard on them as any if they don't pull their weight.

Makes mousset look like Jamie vardy in terms of work rate
