Take your pick Mr Clough

He was only saying he needed to trim the overly large squad last weekend. Brayford probably..............

Wouldn't it be a nice dose of Sheffield Unitedism if Clough actually went out and bought them some promising players.

What about tall ones? What about un-scottish ones? What about one's not having come from Blackpool, or Derby?

What if he buys a tall, strong and athletic centre half?

It's written in the stars...

And if he does. Would it be down to him or his scouts?

Where?

"Meanwhile, Clough, who returned to Derby last month following Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's move to QPR, is pleased to have extended Duffy's stay at the club."

I must've been asleep when the managerial merry-go-round started.

Would be stupid IMO considering we've only got 2 right backs. His early season form was great imo and he's a good cover player for Brayford.

Still, if it's a choice between the two it's a no brainer.

Exactly, a £2m signing is never going to be back up is he?

"I think we'd like a new player in each position to freshen us up," Clough told BBC Radio Derby.
" A few new faces won't do any harm at this stage."

Top of the league with a game in hand and you want to make changes?
A few new faces might just piss-off the older ones that got you there in the first place.
What's been said about how much consistency has to do with a team's success at this level?
Stick with what you've got Nige. They've done you well for you so far haven't they?.

Think Freeman & Scougall are good shouts to join Burton.
Maybe the wheels are already turning ;)

I think Che might be tempted with what looks like a quicker route to the Championship, and less travelling. Clough gave him his big chance.

Really hoping Brayford's love is SUFC and us lot, rather than Clough.....

It probably was at the time of the last move but he'll have as much, if not more of a link with Burton (and Clough) I would imagine as he started his career with them.

Blades, League 1
Burton, Clough, Chumpionship

I wouldn't put money on him staying

I hear that Cloughs next signing will be Barney based on his imaginary goal scoring capabilities of at least eight goals every twenty six games. Admittedly it's a big step from Deluded L2 to Deranged L1, but Neg. Nigel was always willing to take a gamble.

Is that the female singer 'Duffy' or Steven 'Tin Tin' Duffy?

I reckon Clough will definitely go for Scougall, he always played him when fit, maybe Flynn also. Its weird how Freeman can't even get on the bench of late, maybe he'd love a move back to the Midlands. Clough owes us to take a few of his players that leave us more bloated than Steve Evans after Christmas indulging!

Billy.
The Cult.

Astbury's livid!

Awesome guitarist, once saw him in his younger days, when he had short, blonde spikey hair. I was sat outside a bar in Los Angeles (West Hollywood area), mid afternoon, having a cool pint, saw this bloke on a racing type push bike, black vest, black shorts, head down, cycling along, so I nudged my mate and said in a loud voice, "bloody hell, it's Billy Idol!", when Billy Duffy looked up, laughed and said "wrong Billy!"

I'd be OK with Freeman going if we could trust Flynn to stay fit.

But as it is, it would be a risk to let Freeman go. But this is the sort of thing we have to do - move players on who we might need later in the season in order to bring in better quality players who'll help us get promoted. Ideally we'd not lose Freeman but he's one of the few squad players who are actually saleable - but one who's unlikely to develop into a future asset, so we can afford to let him go.

As for Scougall, he should be near the top of the list to be moved on. I could see him ending up at Burton with Freeman.

Surely Clough would be mad to tinker too much with a team doing so well? He might bring one or two in, for cover, but surely he won't take the number of players we need to get rid of? ;)

I think he's as mad as his Dad, and as arrogant. Unfortunately not as charismatic. Or successful.

Knowing our luck it will be Brayford, and Sharp.

Pete , many a true word . Definitely Brayford , and Clough will test the boards strength and commitment to say a resounding No .

Be nice again IMO for Clough to take ex Derby Sammon on loan . That would be welcome and do us a favour.
