Untouchable.

Whilst, unfortunately, those games very much do count it's still impressive to see how much further ahead our form has been.

It is, especially when there's a very obvious reason for the failures of the first four games, namely the players getting used to the different demands of Tuftyball.

However, apart from a harmless amusement, I question the value of publishing a league table that never existed. That said, all league tables are illusory, save for the last one. That's why "how have we done against the top six?" analyses half way through the season are a little naive, given we don't know who they are!...

Might sound stupid but I prefer the league how it is, keeps the players more focused. Lose a game now and we slip to third, lose a couple on that table and we are still top but the mentality is different

I once saw a clip from an Australian sports broadcast of an Olympic swimming final where the commentator was summarising the race where an American swimmer had just pipped the Aussie to gold..

"That was morally a victory for the Australian girl, she was finishing twice as fast as anyone else, if that had been a four hundred and one meter race she would have taken gold"

Rather unfortunately for her it was a four hundred meter race however and she didn't win. It's unfortunately a 46 game season for us not 42. If we miss promotion by a point or two no one will remember or care about the first four games but us.

Great form over 19 games
But we have to take the points of Bolton and Scunny
It could be the difference between promotion and play offs

We've had two goes at Bolton and lost both times

Oh, I think you're being a little harsh on Leonardo. Yes, of course it makes stuff all difference, yes we were crap at the start of the season, but this is an 'imagine if' thread. There is no statement that actually we should be 1st because we've been awsome. It's simply highlighting how good we've been compared to the competition since our crap start. Chill out folks and have another snowball

Where they gas. electric (or being Australian) water meters? What did they do in this race swim through a load of meters.

New Years resolution for Zablade understand the difference between a meter and a metre.;)

New years resolution for BladeFisher, understand the difference between 'where' and 'were'. ;):D

Crossed my mind a few times over the last few weeks, what might have been if we'd hit the ground running. With so many new players arriving in the summer I thought pre-season could have been more heavy with regards to games played. It wasn't unknown for Bassett to do two pre-season tours after a week at an army camp, blinking eck, John Harris used to just tour them all way through the summer, where post season tours and pre-season tours just merged into one :)

I'm just hoping the 2.4 pts average since the first four games carries onto the end of the season!

at their place , neither with our current first eleven
Sheffield United: Long, Brayford, Hussey, Fleck, O'Connell, Basham, Sharp, Done (Adams 66), J Wilson, Duffy (Scougall 66), Clarke. Not used: Ramsdale, McNulty, Wright snr, Coutts, Wallace.
its a much changed team since game 1

Can we petition the FA?

Seems unfair to count those 4 games when we were adjusting to CW methods.

Perhaps get Sir Trev Brooking, DFC, OBE, MC, VC, DSC GM, Mother Theresa Award for WHUFC etc, to help?

He could explain the EPL disciplinary board about how 'it wouldn't be fair on the fans' and we could get 10 points deducted and added on to the CheatinAmmers.

Seems only right given all the trouble we caused them.

game one team

Long, Brayford, Hussey, Fleck, O'Connell, Basham, Sharp, Done (Adams 66), J Wilson, Duffy (Scougall 66), Clarke. Not used: Ramsdale, McNulty, Wright snr, Coutts, Wallace.
