I subscribe to SUTV and it's great being able to watch most first team games live, even from abroad.

So far this season SUTV have only had the rights to stream one of seven first team fixtures. They are offering other stuff, and have good people trying their best.

I think the pre game shows are good, although I don't always have the time to watch them.

For me player interviews aren't hugely interesting. I try to watch interviews with Blades managers, but in my 30 years as a Blade there are only a few that have been interesting to listen to.

There's a bit of content produced by the social media team, and these may be good for some, maybe especially kids?

I think U23 games are very interesting though. These are potentially United first teamers and I enjoy assessing them, their development and their chances to make it. SUTV/Blades Player/iFollow have advertised they are going to stream "selected" U23 matches, but they rarely seem to bother. Shirecliffe games are almost worthless (camera needs to be higher), but if they are playing at the Proact Stadium, like today, it's ideal.

I think more streaming of these games would be beneficial for the youngsters as well. They are in the process of getting prepared to top level professional football, and being streamed live for people (not too many, but still) from all over the world to watch them, should only add extra motivation. If there's an 18 year old, or his parents, who think that's too much pressure, maybe professional football isn't the right career path for them.

I wondered if it' just me who'd like United to - primarily - offer football matches on SUTV.

Get yourself a VPN Bergen I’ve been able to watch every match.

I don't have VPN that would make it possible to watch all games live and so far seen only one. I've watched the rest of the games via replay on next day with the help of my missus who puts the games on for me so I don't see the score which is stupidly put right on the videos. One even had that same pick put as single last picture on the end of match replay video so I knew result after 1st half. My significant other even hides the video lenght as it gives some hints about the happenings.

Got this mail and this month seems bit better about the LIVE match coverage. I have one free VPN that has at least 2 countries from 'unsold territories' for free and might try it out on Hull and Middlesbrough games.

I refuse to subscribe to this because as fans we should be entitled to junior games, interviews, social media, and behind the scenes stuff for free.

If the first team play then I'm usually there, but if I wasn't then I would have no issues with being asked to pay for that element of the service.

The rest should just come under the banner of "good supporter relations"

Can you watch the games with just a VPN or do you need to register with an overseas address as well?

One thing that overseas fans who subscribe to this service should note is that the "unsold territories" on the club website does not match the football league's list. Not surprisingly, this is the club's fault for not updating their list.

Worth double checking before you buy, as it affects what games you can see e.g. the Boro game.

Preston game is available to all inc UK to watch for a tenner.

On another subject Sheffield United partner Nord VPN which is handy.... ;)

I'd like to stress that this post wasn't really about how to watch first team games.

I want to watch the U23s as well.

Seems like such a simple way of pleasing paying customers.

I agree. Ideally some sort of playback system would be nice where match recordings are available for a set period of time. Obviously seniors games can’t be because of licensing issues but that shouldn’t be a problem with 23’s games. Work commitments mean I’ll struggle to go to or even watch online the afternoon and sometime evening kickoffs but if I could watch them in my own time I definitely would as I enjoy watching our junior sides.

First time watching SUTV pre match show as I can't go today, how hard is it to get the sound right? As I work in this industry this is actually making me anxious.

Do you have to use a VPN to watch the games in the UK? If so which one do you use

Just wait until the match starts and you have to turn the volume up to the top to hear the whispering.
The match sfx are too loud, you can't hear the commentary, why is no-one doing a free watchalong on YouTube to offer a quality alternative!?!

Championship feeds bizarrely went down on 30 minutes so I watched Portsmouth v Sunderland for 5 minutes. When they came back online, the SUTV feed had been replaced with Bournemouth's ifollow and their Radio Solent commentary was much better.

That studio is obviously just a plywood box, so with cheap kit they’re always gonna struggle to make it not sound echoey and boomy. Get some eggboxes in. Or something.

The match effects were far too quiet the previous few games, so at least they’ve tried to sort that. Yesterday was actually a better balance than before… and if means I struggle to hear the outdated views of Dronfield’s Premier Epidemiologist, so be it.
