Certainly be shitting bricks on the last day of the season though.

Least they might be able to use 'em to build the hotel :D

Can't be doing with waiting on results going our way at the end of the season... I'll have a heart attack!

Be exciting though...

A point would do me, as would goal difference.
As long as we stay up im happy. last day of the season would be a great day to stay up though!!:D

I don't care if it's half a point or winning on goal difference by scoring 1 more goal, survival is survival.

Dont know i still cant believe we have let ourselves into this situation when really we could be 6 or 7 points clear still.

Well with warnock playing Leighterwood who could not hit a cows arse with a banjo and montgomery together we will be lucky to score many more goals this season:mad:

Welcome to the forum!

I didn't realise it was those 2 we had to rely on to score though.

Well i was merely implying that if we have no service as is the case at the moment! we are going to find it very difficult to score:mad:

Thanks for the welcome

I thought you was talking about Leighterwood's ability to score with the comment you made?

Monty was by far our best player last week unless you think different?

I think we have our wires crossed sorry for any confusion i wasn't knocking montys performance as i know he was our man of the match, but with them two in the side we have little or no creativity whatsoever and 1 of them to be dropped and of course it would be Leighterwood as he is one of the worst premiership players i have ever seen.

And i suggested Replacing Leighterwood with CKR as he has the skill+ pace and Awareness to create the goals that we need.

In place of CKR upfront i would play shelton+nade them two would create alot of chances i feel with there pace and power what do you think.

I was shot down in flames by certain individuals on unitedite for evening raising the issue hopefully we can have a sensible debate on here about it:)

Sensible debates don't usually start with a post berating players who have done very well of late.

On Shelton I'd ask if you have seen him play. In the reserves when I have seen him he doesn't look ready to step in at the stage we are at.

If he does I hope he does well.....we do not see them in training like the manager does.

Well it is sensible if it is berating leighterwood im not one for normally knocking the team but he is dire and cost us badly it was like we was playing with 10 men.

Well if he is not ready i will take your word for it but if that's the case it's another 2m wasted by warnock he could have spent the cash we had available more wisely and bought in a proven striker not up and coming players.

I would say the whole team cost us last week....but if you want to single people out.

It's just my opinion on Shelton, at this stage, from what I have seen.......you already seem to think he is a waste of money.

I'll wait and see when he's ready.

I'm afraid proven strikers at this level cost more than £2m.

I am not saying just leighterwood was sh*te because he wasn't, but the only player who looked remotely interested was monty.

Well players who are brought in highly regarded and only play 5 mins of premiership football is a waste of money in my eyes.

The money could have been better spent on a proven goal scorer which we only have 1 of in rob hulse.

In the summer if we stay up we need to spend big on improving the first team squad to have any chance of staying up next season as far as im concerned.

Also I didn't mean proven strikers cost 2m i was saying that warnock could have used it with whatever other cash he had whether it be 10 m as some people where suggesting.

Most people slagged off the signing of Rob Hulse though.

Most of the Blades forums did.

I'm an old Blade who prefers to give players a chance whoever they are.

Warnock is one of our most successfull managers even in my time so it's difficult for me to be so critical.

When you have seen what I've seen you have to be mellow.......not on match days though....ask the ones who know :D

:)

I didn't slag hulse off i prefer to give the players the benefit of the doubt and prove there worth.

I think Ifill would have done well if warnock had give him chance:mad:

we need to win every home game from now ! - and we need 2 win at least 1 of the away games hopefully charlton to stand any chance - the Man utd game we should have go at them- but not get disheartened if we lose hopefully the confidence doesn't get knocked by that game - but every game is a virtual cup game - win west ham - we play charlton in the next round - win them we have watford in the round after and then we should be in the "final" against Wigan on the last game of the season - but it will be a tough ride - hopefully we can raise the noise yet again and steer the blades on to victory - COME ON U BLADES !!!!

I thank warnock for Everything he has done in the past but we can't afford to be sentimental he has proved to be tactically inept more often than not away from home this season and it's cost us :(

You can Guarantee warnock will play 4-5-1 against man utd hence the reason blades fans are reluctant to go to old trafford and watch us get mauled.

The tickets for man utd away have gone on general sale but if this was at the start of the season they would have been gone in the first day or two but due to our negative tactics away from home this isn't the case:(

So at 21 yr old you think someone as experienced as Warnock is inept??

Ok!

:)

Theres a very fine line between being hailed a tactical genious and tactically inept, no matter what class of manager is in charge.

Sadly for us, however our tactics are going to work, we are up against a better class of player for the most part!

Too much is blamed on tactics (mainly meaning formation) due to the championship manager generation, a real game of football is far more complicated, unpredicatable and evolutionary than some mathematical calculations based up a number of variables (including the zones in which players are percieved to be playing within a certain formation).

Eh??????????

I can tell you spent time at Sheffield University now!

:D :D :D

I was saying in my pissed Paddy's Day state to an equally pissed bloke at Chelsea though... goal difference might be what keeps us up at the end of the season.

We aren't going to get much from places like Anfield, Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford and go fully expecting a mauling, but if we can restrict the goals they can score against us, it might be the difference between us staying up and going down. And even if we did play 4-4-2 in those circumstances, there's nothing to say the end result would be any different.

Saying that, I would prefer us to play 4-4-2 or at least push Kazim-Richards further forwards with more support from midfield than he had at Bolton to play a 4-4-1-1. We need to be having a go at teams (Manchester United aside) in order to get maximum points for the rest of the season. But it's a fine balancing act between scoring at one end and not conceding at the other.

I and many others think he has been tactically inept away from home this season he shot himself in the foot big time at the start of the season he played negative tactics away from home playing 4-5-1 and the fans started getting on his back.

Yet he started playing 4-4-2 when we played watford and All of a sudden he started reverting back to the negative 4-5-1 again and we have not won in 7 or 8 away games the stats speak for themselves he can gloss over it anyway he likes he can't get away from the fact that we have been p*ss poor away from home for a good percentage of this season.

I have always supported warnock but I have had it with his negativeness i would rather us play 4-4-2 ATTACKING our best formation and have ago than sit back and get hammered if we had ago and lost i could take that and i would not dispute warnocks tactics it's the fact that he tryed to play for draws and play defensively that has annoyed me and many others.

As many people say there is hardly any difference in the formations people talk about, perhaps a yard or so.

What matters more is the way individuals play......and I'm afraid that, in my opinion, is what has cost us.

I've only missed one match this season and I firmly believe it's more down to individual's performance than any tactical nounce.

Whatever you play in the numbers game eg 4-4-2 if one in midfield is not playing it becomes 4-3-2 as you have already stated in your post about Leigertwood.

We just don't have good enough players to be where we want to be. Although it don't get much better than where we are....unless you lot know different?

What's new in the 37/8 years i've been going?

Nothing!

If the players win on sat it will raise their confidence - u never know with Man utd but the if the confidence is high and we make the noise we can do it

You should know different, if you watched the early 70s side. imo it could be a whole lot better.
