Wrong penalty area......
Could be shortest thread ever!

Apparently not RMc. It seems my post has generated a significant amount of reasoned argument and debate.
I hadn't, for example, even considered the possibility of Sharpy one day having to take a penalty from his own goal area.
So, purpose served in my opinion. A light hearted consideration of what might have been, had the referee understood the rules of football about as much as I do.
By the way, thanks everyone for your well thought out contributions.......ya set of barstads!!

Of course at a quantum level, the foul and subsequent penalty could have occurred simultaneously at both ends.

Only when observed by an erm.. observer would the foul have been at one end or the other.

So as you didn't observe it Greasy (as you forgot to go), I can quite understand your confusion.
