Agree with you . Lady's man Sid James was . Makes me smile .

Him and Hatty Jaques were a item .

Always makes me laugh when he complains in a sit com that Sheffield United buggered his pools coupon up .

Wilder needs to start smiling and laughing again which a win will help .

Thought it was him and Barbara Windsor?

I read Sid James biography, a cracking read.

Bernard and Sid . Saw them play football once in a charity game . At the moment they would give Billy and Clarke a good run .

In saying that Kenneth Wiiliams and Charles Houtrey would do the same with Basham and Coutts
Was that a charity match around 1957/8 at Owlerton stadium Utd vs All Stars? My first game. Remember Mike Winters (Mike and Bernie) Tommy Steel played as well.

Chris, you have my backing. You have managed over 700 games and have improved every club. Please make decisions/changes through your gut feeling and do not listen to the "know it alls" who say that you have never managed at this level, play the wrong tactics etc. The majority of Blades fans will give you time to make improvements to the side and form
Good post Silent.
The amusing thing is, those who say Wilder (or any other manager, Weir, Adams, Adkins, Clough, Morgan etc etc) are clueless, are even more clueless themselves.
How daft is it to label someone inept, tactically unaware, and yes, 'clueless' when those giving the label have never remotely worked in professional football at any level (and yes, some clueless fucker will come on and claimed to have ☺).

probably a good time to point out that CW won the title last year with northampton by a mile
after taking 4 points from the first 6 games as he sorted out the team

and did the double over Oxford in the process. Edit: just looked and was actually 7 points but nevertheless ..

Are you just c and p-ing your own posts from this time last year, substituting NA for CW and South for North?

no , we won 4 on the trot this time last year after the gillingham debacle

we have gone from bloated squad to minimalist and starting from the beginning again
nothing like last season

Your user name suggests you're not longer a Blade young man so no shame for you. Think the rest of us can handle it like men.
Good for you, gi ya sen a pat on the bk. Ya mean it's Men like me are sick of that joke of a club being run by clowns. And girls like you need to wake up.

Hope ya saying the same shit when we've only got 15points at Xmas.

What's with the "we've"? You are no longer a Blade and therefore have no right to identify with us. Criticise all you like (preferably constructively) but if it's a "joke club" that you have such contempt for why don't you go elsewhere?

As I have pointed out time and time again, please do not tar the "club" with the insanity of its owners or managers. The club will endure and consists of us and whatever we have to support in whatever league we end up in. Some of us may pack in with that physical support but mentally it will always be there.

If we have 15 points at Christmas, I suspect the inevitable will happen. However it will be the owner who makes that decision and whether he is a joke in the circumstances will remain to be seen.

We all know its being run by idiots (I find your metaphorical clown references highly offensive as does Mrs Jelly and the Jellybeans, idiot is a much more subjective verb don't you agree?). However, we don't all come on here in the middle of our blob period and scweam and scweam. We understand how you feel but take the HRT YKIMS. If you've run out LYDON does a good out of hours random pharmaceutical service

Actually they got 7 points from the first 6 games WWLLDL

The annoying thing about all this is how quickly any positivity has eroded... Fans are going to be frustrated If we start poorly against Oxford and rightly so.

I was pleased pre season. Thought we had a good fit of a manger and had made some decent signings to address our slump. Since then, Performances and results have been pathetic.

I'm still behind wilder cause I think it could have been different.

If we'd taken some chances against Bolton and Crewe. And not conceded that penno in the last minute and long hadn't gifted Rochdale a goal. There's an argument for 3 wins, 1 defeat and a draw.

We would have been mid table with signings to come in and I think people wouldn't have been that annoyed. Part luck, part mentality.

Hope we can turn it around. We need a victory against Oxford tho and some new signings. No question

My views were surprisingly balanced here and I think i'd almost consigned myself to another season in league 1 after the last minute defeat to Millwall haha.

Just shows that you cant really judge at that stage of the season, all those opponents are gonna end up in the top7/8 in the league and have shown them selves to be decent.

If you take the table from after the first 4 games. We're 23 points ahead of Fleetwood in second taking 2.31 points per game (106 points for the full season at the same rate)

We've absolutely dominated this league - played some great football and have a group that genuinely seem to care as much as the fans.

Well done Wilder - an exceptional season!

Like you Lydon .... I was never in either and I was quite openly hostile to his appointment albeit on another forum .

But he's here now so I back him to the hilt . He needs time . Simple as that really .

To be fair to the guy aswell , he's actually already done a lot of what was clearly needed . Only time will tell if his version of what a promotion winning league 1 side should look like is realised one way or another .

I'm glad I've been my usuall idiotic clapping self this season :)

Just had a quick read through some of the early posts on this thread, and was grinning like a Cheshire Cat that wilder has proven some of the fickle negative fuckers so wrong it's unreal! I for one knew that he would get it right, and if he didn't it wouldn't be through a lack of effort or desire. Well done chrissy lad ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Wise words from moi! :)

Let's cut the fella some slack. The guy is clearly feeling the pressure and isn't going to get any better at his job with the fans on his back. He's a Blade desperate to succeed as we all are. He's worked (and been pretty successful) all his life in the lower echelons. This is a massive step up for him in terms of stature and expectation (if not league position) and whilst he clearly would have known this, knowing and experiencing are not the same thing. He knows as we all do that results haven't been good so far. Performances haven't been great but, barring a 30 min nightmare, they haven't been diabolical. Not too far form what you might expect form a side bedding in a new defence and 7/8 new signings in fact.

Chris, I'm behind you as are thousands of us. Replicate the intensity of those 1st 30 mins at Bolton and the results will come. I'd be shitting it too if I'd spent all my life racing stock cars and suddenly had to take on an F1 car with a dodgy clutch and wonky steering.

You'll get this right pal. UTB.
I agree. He needs more time without the fans on his back. Chin up Chris, It'll be OK mate.
