We can't keep getting rid of managers and starting again and ending up worse off than before.

I'm calling time on this Groundhog Day nonsense.

Wilder must stay for at least two seasons no matter what.

Let's hope Wilder improves things in the next 2 weeks .

Two seasons no matter what . Just got me humming Vanaramma , Vanaramma .

I support him 100% as he is our manager, and I support all our players and managers. That doesn't change the fact some of his signings and tactical choices have been highly questionable.

Neil Warncok took over The Blades in Dec 1999 at which point we were a well established Championship club having spent 5 and a bit seasons at this level.

He was then given 6 and a bit years to get us promoted in that time we finished; 16th, 10th, 13th, 3rd, 8th, 8th, 2nd.

Chris Wilder has taken over The Blades who are now a well established league one side I say he should be afforded the time to get us promoted (as was Warnock)... we aren't going to arrest this slide in one season.

The only time we have experienced any success over our recent history is when we have stuck by managers.

Chris Powell or Steve Cotterill would be decent candidates, both have had recent success in this division working with high expectations and vast squad changes.

If we're quick we can sack Tufty by the end of August and get Cotteril in (he's first alphabetically).

Then we can sack him before the end of the year and get Powell in.

That would still leave enough time to sack Powell in the Spring and get someone else in.

It's the Blades Way....

Where does Karl Robinson fit into things?

I for the most part agree with you, as I did with the previous manager also. But I do wonder.. What would you do if we got to Christmas and are still bottom?

To me this feels a little like rock bottom but I do believe after 700 games Wilder knows what he's doing, however let's look at the magnitude of the task:

We had 49 players at one point in time last season. 55 if you incorporate the 6 new pros.

We have released, sold, ended the loan of or loaned out some 33 players. 4 of those remaining are listed and one is currently thinking over his future after a poor start to the season.

That is some cull by any measure.

On the flip side we've added 9 players new to their current surroundings.

I don't know any industry that could remove 60% of their workforce, downsize by 40%, have a 50% new staff and be expected to perform to their optimum in the first fortnight.

All whilst having a new leader with fresh ideals.

Not all the cogs in the wheel are arriving at the same time. Let's judge how recruitment went when the window closes.

Let's see how we are come Christmas when the team has had time to gel.

Such upheaval was required but we do have to be robust enough as fans to take some short term pain. Northampton started last year poorly and ended with 99 points. Let's show a little faith for once, myself included!

Where does Karl Robinson fit into things?

After Powell, obvs.

We could sack him in the summer and move down the list. There will be loads of managers out of work who we haven't tried yet.

Maybe Carlos Carvalpig has a brother, or uncle or window cleaner or something?

Apart from the downsize, which is in fact an increase in numbers.
I give you.

Jeremy Corbyn and The Labour Party.

Let's cut the fella some slack. The guy is clearly feeling the pressure and isn't going to get any better at his job with the fans on his back. He's a Blade desperate to succeed as we all are. He's worked (and been pretty successful) all his life in the lower echelons. This is a massive step up for him in terms of stature and expectation (if not league position) and whilst he clearly would have known this, knowing and experiencing are not the same thing. He knows as we all do that results haven't been good so far. Performances haven't been great but, barring a 30 min nightmare, they haven't been diabolical. Not too far form what you might expect form a side bedding in a new defence and 7/8 new signings in fact.

Chris, I'm behind you as are thousands of us. Replicate the intensity of those 1st 30 mins at Bolton and the results will come. I'd be shitting it too if I'd spent all my life racing stock cars and suddenly had to take on an F1 car with a dodgy clutch and wonky steering.

You'll get this right pal. UTB.

I have more or less said this in a different post and agree totally that we need to back CW and the team to the hilt come what may. Until things change or decisions are made, we have to show total support however difficult it gets. UTB

Why would he need a brother...
He might be available soon too.

Nah, fuck it... let's get the only man available who can get the very best out of Big Harv...

Brian.
Mr Brian.
Laws.

Why not?

Ooohh, controversial!

I tried making the same point prior to Clough and Adkins being shown the door. Apparently, it's a piece of piss getting out of this division as we are Sheffield United and so time doesn't come into it. Just as much horseshit then as it is now.
