His distribution isn’t supposed to be his stand out but it’s been excellent when compared to what we’ve had the last few years. Makes a big difference to the speed of our game.
Plymouth fans said his distribution was first rate ?

Definitely living up to his ‘best keeper in EFL’ reputation. If we go up, he will not look out of place in the premier league.

Listened to a pod (maybe the pinch?) and there was a lot of analysis on him. Apparently doesn’t show up as exceptional (but certainly not bad). They reckoned that was why he’s not been picked up by a Prem team (you have to be fucking Maradona in net these days). His shot stopping is supposedly elite level.

Anywho, I’m not complaining. His passing looks excellent to me. Great signing.

He looks very assured with the ball

We played out from the back better than we have for a long time and that started with him

No worries / concerns from me from what I’ve seen, but the caveat is he’s not had much to do (which in itself is a good thing).

Did he even make a save today?

He was fine today? But I think we’d have kept the clean sheet with Davo in goal today. I’m pleased he’s here, but he’ll have tougher afternoons than today.

Can't say he has been tested yet, but nice to see one these ball playing goalkeepers finally. He is supposed to have an epic throw on him as well.

He did get caught at the edge of his box mind lets not forget and as some have said he hasn't really had too much to do so far

What we've seen however he does look decent and as some have said it's nice to have some confidence in who's between the sticks!

Very good with his feet - he bypassed their press a few times. It’s a risk-reward balance and it will go wrong occasionally but it’s very valuable.
He'll get caught out once or twice this season. We just have to accept that. All the best goalkeepers in the modern game are good with their feet. This is something we've never had

Thought a couple of his long kicks were wayward...something for him to work on?

However, I absolutely love his habit of dummying a striker and playing a simple ball to Arblaster or Souza in the middle to get us moving again. Did it loads today and it's very effective.

Yes one of those nearly gave me a heart attack as it got fairly close to their player.

I think it'll be noted by lots of teams, and he'll have to be careful with it going forward, but when used right it's a brilliant alternative to the standard "play it out wide and build from there." It really caught Watford on the back foot a couple of times today.

He plays the pass with confidence though unlike Wes or Davies who seem to play it with panic.

Agree with you re his long kicks , a couple went straight into touch - but the rest of his play looks ok - didn't really have a save to make today so will reserve judgment on shot-stopping.
Surprised how slightly built he is.
I wonder what Gbric will be doing on matchdays now ?

Will be right up there with the best keepers we’ve had ! Absolute bargain!
As ever UTB !
Looked calm and collected on the ball.

Punched what he needed too.

Slowed it down when we needed too.

Very good performance.

He’s actually not made a save yet 😉

True ha ha

However we were saying on the Kop how calm and composed the defence looked today.
Watford looked good in midfielder but when they got near out area they really struggled to break through our defence.

We were wondering if it was due to the Soutter/ Anel partnership
however most of us....said that Cooper has so much presence that he gives confidence to the defence.

Also today Cooper should have been awarded an assist for our goal. What a fantastic pass to Rak Sakyi.

Another point is that on many occasions Cooper calmly passed it to a defender, so instead of punting it up field risking losing possession.
When Watford were building some possession, we played it around our defenders, regaining our composure regain back plenty of possession.
Obiovusly Wilder trusts Cooper and is telling him to pass to defenders, so we can play the ball out of defence instead of the long punt we
always used in the Premier league because we could never play through a high press, so we panicked, booted it long and gave possession away.

Another point which some people might not have noticed is that Cooper is 2 footed, he cleared the ball well with both his left foot and right foot.
where as Wes was terribly one footed and sometimes paid the price for it making goalie blunders.
