I suspect Anel and Hamer will go, possibly Souza as well. Firstly we need a new coherent system, the chaotic start to the year to the takeover hasn’t helped us.

Notwithstanding that, I’d be looking for the following positions to be bolstered:-

Two CBs
DMC
Two wide midfielders
Number 10

If we can get quality like Burrows and Cooper in I think we have a decent chance. Pace and power is what we need. Second half, notwithstanding the changes, we looked like athletically we couldn’t keep up with Sunderland.

Hopefully Hamer and Souza give it another go with us next season. Anel can go for me. Haven't rated him defensively for a while. So make that 3 new centre halves needed as I want Anel and Robinson gone ideally. Jimmy Dunne at QPR and making Choudhury permanent would be a good start to summer business. Mepham would also be ideal if he's available.

Tyrhys Dolan - about to be a released by Blackburn unless he signs another one year deal

Kwame Poku (Peterborough) - about to be released by Peterborough unless he signs another one year deal

Both would be upgrades on what we already have.

Mepham and Dunne would also be fantastic signings, also free signings.

That would be four "QUALITY" additions without a penny spent.

From what i can work out we have just two players whose contracts are up thats Rhian Brewster and Jack Robinson.

So all the other squad members would command a fee if they left the club.

The six loan players all go back to parent clubs.

We will have space for eight new players (if Brewster and Robinson are not retained),not withstanding any players under contact that are sold.

Wilder and co will be busy.

Dunne, Darling, Kenny and Dolan on frees are no brainers

Replace Souza with someone who can play possession football and form a midfield partnership

Make much better use of loans. We failed this season. Callum Doyle would be a good one and allow Robinson to move on if he wants

Look at replacing Hamer purely in terms of numbers - around 20 G+A. Not a massive ask. It might take 2 signings but hopefully they wouldn't be ill disciplined fitness liabilities and the team would be more balanced

I hope we don't lean too heavily on AI. For a club like us at championship level, it simply isn't necessary

We need a fully functional midfield with a good engine, defensive, creative, mobile, gets up and down, gets their foot in,gets on the front foot, has pace and power, turns the ball over high up the pitch.

We need an upgrade on Moore too. He has a lot of good attributes, but his decision making is absolutely shocking.

It is perhaps unfair to pin a defeat solely on one player or individual, but as far as I am concerned he is largely responsible for us losing that game yesterday.

We don't need two defensive midfielders in a 442. To put it in old school terms you need a Roy Keane and Paul Scholes in the middle and not Roy Keane and Nicky Butt every game. Even then you don't put Paul Scholes on the left wing because you keep picking Nicky Butt.

There are a number of free signing which would improve us:

Darling
Dunne
Gunn
Poku
Dolan

Also lots of decent squad options on free fin the Championship.

There's even swift if you want another little fat tricky bloke with no fitness!

Would it be too much to ask to sign players who can see out 90 minutes.
Imagine going for a job and telling them you only work till 3pm because you get tired !
Can anyone imagine some of ours chasing the ball around in the PL next season for a whole match ?
Realise subs are part of the game more so than ever but we're too often forced into changes due to players being out on thier feet .
For too long we've lacked pace and athleticism, really needs to be looked at .

That's why I'm not too upset about not getting promoted. I wanted us to win to finally break the play off/Wembley hoodoo. But if we'd gone up with our fitness issues and the way we'd played all season we'd have done worse than the season before. Wilder is not a Premier League manager. He never has been and never will be. The first season was an unreal one off but he fell apart the season after starting with the "greatest ever transfer window" in the following summer.

Then all weve got to then is hope that Chris goes with the pace and power and less of the back passing and negative tactics
I would like a return of Wilderball from the early days, when we played our normal game and went at teams aggressively. Yesterday in the first half Sunderland looked like competition winners and were completely overawed, but we failed to finish them off. The sitting back when we are in front approach has obviously been largely successful for us this year, particularly when we had Souttar, but I feel that we have the quality to dominate teams at this level.

Edit I completely agree with the comments regarding fitness. It is inconceivable to me how we can have so many players consistently unable to finish 90 minutes. This seems to be a problem going back years. I remember Ndiaye regularly being subbed.

To be serious about getting automatic and giving yourselves half a chance in the PL,you need at least 4 players who are capable of transitioning successfully to the bottom 6 group of the PL,ideally not loans, and then add another 4 or 5 in the window.
We didn't have that platform this season, although that's understandable due to the takeover situation making recruitment difficult, but we need to find this quality of player.

Depends on the formation but main positions we need are, RB, CB, LW and RW.

GK, CM, LB and ST are mostly sorted, wouldn't be against some depth in those areas if possible, but defence and wingers are the priority.

Realistically, all we have to do is build a squad capable of getting promoted, and personally I don't think we're that far away from that goal, just need a few gaps filling.

CB x 2/3: think Anel will go personally, good luck to him if he does, Dunne on a free would be a good start, same with Mepham if Sunderland don't want him, Darling too.

RB x 1: we need someone to compete with Seriki, I know Dunne can play there as well but another conventional RB is needed, JJK would be good.

RW x 1: competition for Brooks, maybe 2 RW's if possible but 1 RW is a priority, can Dolan play RW as well as CAM?

LW x 2: need 2 players in this position, Keillor-Dunn at Barnsley would be someone I'd go for, Poku maybe (or is he a RW), Murphy at Portsmouth if we can get him with the right deal.

There's only one guy I trust to do it on a potentially "modest" budget and that's the guy we have.

Blaster back is a huge plus.

I want Hamer sold for good money physically he is not elite and if we can get good money I would accept it

We have, Callum O'Hare, but we play him out of position out wide instead of centrally. I argued a while back that we should play him alongside Vini instead of Peck due to his box to box style.

It ridiculous that in such an important match as yesterday we can’t keep our top scorer and biggest goal treat on the pitch for 90 minutes.

I appreciate that players are all different and not all of them are built to run around for 90 minutes like O’Hare, but surely it’s not impossible to get Campbell’s fitness levels to a point where he is capable of playing 90 minutes occasionally?

Go and have a rest pal.

Brewster & Robbo can go, proven failures!

O'Hare plays centrally most of the time, as he did yesterday. And you're complaining about us playing him out of position while suggesting we should play him out of position. He's not a CM in a midfield two.

"The first season was an unreal one"

I've already acknowledged that.

Saying that our success was built on a resolute defence as we only scored 39 goals in 38 games. That was our downfall in season 2 as we didn't address the goalscoring issues, losing Henderson and O'Connell hurt us as the defence fell apart, the recruitment was shite and Fleck and Stevens continued playing like turds which they had been after the restart. Wilder had no answers and shot himself in the foot with his "greatest ever transfer window" comment before unleashing the horror show that was Oli Burke. Any players he signed were inferior squad players and not anyone who could challenge the shirt of underperforming players already here. We also has no sellable assets who other teams were interested in whose sales for large profits would help bank rolls the summer. We were a team of good players who gelled and not a team with any stand out stars expect arguably O'Connell.

I'll give him some credit for the first season but for the one after and last season he's proved that he's a limited, washed up, stubborn dinosaur with a plan A and no plan B when it comes to the Premier League. Like Warnock, he's too good for the Championship and not good enough for the top flight.

I think we should try AI. Wilder doesn’t like foreign signings which is a massive disadvantage

Anselmo McNulty CB/LB - Pec Zwolle
Max Dean - Striker -Gent
Marius Broholm - right winger - Rosenborg
Sondre Orjasaeter - left winger - Sarpsborg
