I've still had no response to my email. I'm not sure who else I can contact. Do we have a modern Jim Phipps equivalent who is prepared to communicate with fans?

I thought initially that this was something the PL wanted so I'm surprised they're now declining to enter.
I wonder if it was some 'committee' decision that's been forced on them or if they're aware of the opposition and thought 'it's not worth the bad publicity'.

The cup set-up in this country is ridiculous, giving too many games at all levels and most of the fans don't give a crap about this competition and that's before this nonsense has been added.

I'd have 2 cups - the FA Cup in its current guise and a FL cup with all teams Championship and below and get rid of the premiership teams, most of them treat the league cup with contempt already.

Includes a list of teams who voted for and against the EFL Trophy. It confirms that SUFC have taken the coward's way out and refused to say how they voted.

I sent a follow up to my original e-mail to the club asking whether they would at least acknowledge that I'd sent them an e-mail. They responded saying that my e-mail had been forwarded to the relevant department "for response in due course".

It's a bit weird because it signs you up to the site's mailing list but is also being used as a sort of petition, and they're quoting numbers in the press. Still, worth doing.

Great, southern EFL qualification leagues won't be including PL 'B' teams so their qualification path will be advantageous.

Are there no depths the FA and/or PL won't sink to to squeeze a few quid more out of the fans? About time they put some effort into the "twenties plenty" campaign.

Greed, corruption, inequality, blah blah oh I feckin give up.

Sufc should refuse to play a strong squad and put the U16's out for that one game in protest
