SUFC vs Hartlepool - Predicitons?

I can't wait for the "Clough should be sacked for playing into their hands/letting them plan" if we lose ;)

Foxy, haven't you noticed? There's already been mild rumblings of hysteria from the 'odd' poster. I've recently seen Clough described as average, and although it's a low volume at the moment, I can see a few posters will wrack up their posts and call for change before too long.

Does that mean Baxters playing on the wing? I really hope not. Anyone know anything about formation?

Great team... Guaranteed loss... Don't use important (starting XI) players... No more wasted time in this stupid comp.
I reckon that's Nigel's thinking too, announcing the team the day before.

If you think that's Nigel's thinking, you haven't learned much about him over the last year or so. He sets out to win every game.
He's announced the team in advance so all the moaners don't start whingeing on about how he's picked a team for a "guaranteed loss".
Did you miss the fact that we are in the 4th round of the League Cup?
As it happens, I quite like the look of this team and I think we will won comfortably tomorrow.

#SUFC team to play Hartlepool tomorrow: Turner, Davies, McGahey, Basham, Harris, JCR, McGinn, Reed, Di Girolamo, Baxter, Porter

I reckon 3-0 Blades, Diego Hattrick!

Given our current form and the performance of our "strikers", I would venture to suggest ...

Hartlepool ? - Sheffield United 0

Not a happy Blade atm !

Competition rules dictate that teams must select at least six players who started the previous game, or six of the top eleven in terms of competitive starts from the season so far.
Just looked it up and if sides don't comply they are fined (unless the rules have changed for this season)

So a defeat and then the FL will fine us £5M.

I think that's another reason why Clough may have announced the side early. So they can have the fine waiting for us when we arrive

The rules are completely fucking stupid. They also think kicking off at 7pm is a good idea. Oh yes, that's helps supporters travelling 90 miles to get to this game.

PS we will only be fined up to £5k unless they consider 6 out of our top 14 player appearances are sufficient.

What a joke.

Had a look at backing Diego to score (any time) but can't see him in the betting anywhere what so ever on Ladbrokes or Billy Hills. (Edit) Actually just found it on Paddy Power at 2/1 ish so think I will give that a swerve on it's own.

I know they're rock bottom but they are going to have to be bad to lose to that team.
Untried keeper (recently!)
Make do right back and a centre back who I watched in midfield against Dundee and could NOT believe he had ever been considered for let alone played in defence!
Allied to a none tackling midfield and a passenger in Josay the Posay to boot
Difficult to see how they could not be licking their lips and dreaming of a cup run and a turn around under a new manager.

I predict a typical Hartlepool welcome for the visiting supporters - frostbite !! So fuck it, i'm staying in sub-tropical Kent.

True story for yers: Last time I was there a couple of seasons ago, me and my mate were sat next to this fabulous looking young woman who was on her own although shivering like mad it was that cold . Blackheath duly offers his Blades jacket to the damsel in distress ;) which is gratefully accepted and when we get chatting, I ask her why she's on her todd :D. "My boyfriend plays for United" she says, "I'm meeting him after the game" Heart sinking, I ask the identity of the lucky sod. "I'm Stephen Quinn's girlfriend" :(.
I bumped into them both at the 125 dinner last week. She's still fabulous and Quinny was a top lad too.

2 - 0 to the Blades.

Like others on this forum, I think we are crying out for something else upfront, but we've only failed to score in 1 game this season - though of course we would all like to score more. At the moment, especially away from home, it's the other end that is costing us dearly.

I'm just having horrible flashbacks to that match at the end of 2012 when we were top of the league and they were bottom and they beat us 2-3.

Kevin McDonald should have been whipped in the car park after that match.

I suspect social services will be getting called.

The car is packed for some kind of polar expedition.

I don't see why the little uns should get away with it.

They're coming too :D. That'll teach them.

My prediction: A Blades win.
Otherwise we will have hit rock bottom! :(

And I'll be mising this what is a 'local' game for me, but look out for other Geordie Blades......

Surely we can all agree... thank god we are not in the position we were in last year under that fecking manager when we played Hartlepool in the JPT. Anybody referring to losing tonight as "hitting rock bottom" must have a very short memory.

Fair comment but football is about today and the future, not yesterday. Too many clubs and fans spend too much time dwelling on past glories! ;)
