Anyway, you have your wish. Blackwell is gone and good times are just around the corner. Now who's on the list of applicants? Megson, Dowie, Shearer...?
Changes were required, and changes have happened.
We can only wait to see what is likely to happen, but nobody said that 'good times' were guaranteed by another manager.

Its no secret that Blackwell had been put under a lot of pressure to deliver this season, and it is a little disappointing that we find ourselves here after two games. If the board felt he was this close to the edge then they should have considered moving him on straight after the end of last season. Ultimately there is no failure, just success and excuses and it appears that Blackie ran out of excuses.
Its also disappointing that although we have seem to stand by our managers much better than some clubs, we haven't got the 'dignified walk to the car park' right for Warnock (shabby), Robson (really shabby), and now Blackwell. Its all seems to be done in a rush at times of emotion, and is so out of keeping with Kev McCabes normal modus operandi. Still, here we are and they will have to make the best of it.
That has been the key assumption in a lot of the discontent. Without Blackwell we will play better football, and win promotion, at least thats whats been said, maybe not by you but by enough. As always its a case of being careful what you wish for. We haven't gone through the messiahs quite as quickly as some clubs, but it will be interesting to see how long the 'Anyone but Blackwell' gang take to become 'Anyone but AN Other'...

Come on Warnock failed when it really mattered and his time had come. McCabe had stood by him when he could easily have been sacked before he eventually took us up.
Robson was lucky to survive as long as he did and I seem to remember McCabe determinedly standing by Blackwell when he wanted to give up a couple of years back.
No-one expects promotion but we do have a right to expect some football, some attempts at playing football, some enjoyment when going to matches.
