God's country ...... Rovrum!
so all the st holders that said they wouldn't renew until blackie had gone will be heading to BL on Monday to join the queue for their renewel

Well done lads :)

Just like people were going to give Kenny loads of stick? Big action required from lots of big talkers now. I predict we'll sell no more than a hundred season tickets next week.

grumpy and happy hippy,

dis you have a st, not renewed, but will do now?

Had one for nearly twenty years, my eldest has had one since she needed to have one and came every afternoon match, and quite a few night matches (when not a school night!) before that, and my third daughter has had one for the last two years (she's only six), and no, I did not renew, but might well buy them now.

All I can say is that's excellent news if you do!

There is no finer feeling than to walk in the ground when it's full (or close to full) and see the place rocking!

And then sit down and watch a right pile of shite! :) hehehehe!

Seriously, if you all renew and many others do it will send a message to the club.

I am still of the opinion that this decision made today is not a KM decision. Just seems too irrational for KM.

I think the decison was made by the new owners/partners (gulp)

Probably talking stupid I know, just convinced KM would've handled this totally different. the decision would have been made at the end of last season, or more games played into this season. It wouldn't have happened with immediate effect, but after a meeting probably the day, or a few days after the match.

You may be better advised to see who the replacemnt will be and, more to the point, whether there will be a change in on field tactics.
Or if you're a true supporter you'll get behind them no matter who is in charge. Fat chance of that happening.

So do we think that all those who have stayed away so far did so just because of KB or was it the lack of entertainment, direction and promise. The next course of action needs to be inspired enough to halt the decline and give some hope. Rushing down to the lane on Monday is unlikely to change anything...turning up in mumbers after we have seen that negative policies of the recent past are to be ditched will I believe.

So in your opinion who should we realistically appoint as Blackwell's replacement to give you all of that and at what stage do you decide to come back? When they're appointed, 2 games in, 10 games, when we get promoted? It's meant as a serious question, but whatever your answer there'll be just as many people that strongly disagree and will stay away if your choice is appointed.

Which is a good point, and one which I wrestled with a lot before deciding not to renew my ST. I never started watching United because we were any good, let's face it. I never had much choice in the matter if the truth be told. I'd just stopped enjoying it. I'm not saying that the football will dramatically improve, or anything like that, but I am hoping that the atmosphere will start to improve.

That in itself makes whatever happens on the green oblong thing seem better at the very least.

Problem is for every person who is happy with the new manager there'll be someone else that isn't (and will tell everyone of the fact at every opportunity). So the atmosphere will stay just the same, even if the football is better (or maybe that's just the people who sit near me).

I'm not so sure. Yeah, of course there is a remarkably low probability that an appointment is going to be met with universal love/hatred, but I think that Birmingham at home was the only match I left Bramall Lane having enjoyed whilst Blackwell was in charge. Even beating the pigs was traumatic in the end. Mind you, I've never enjoyed derby matches in particular anyway.

We're not world beaters. We know we're not world beaters. We're never going to be world beaters. Part of me really doesn't want us to be world beaters. I just want to actually enjoy being at the Lane. I missed umpteen matches last season through nothing but apathy. If someone had said that to me 10 years ago, I'd have laughed them out of town.

If you're a true supporter you wouldn't just sit and 'happy clap' letting everyone suffer the shit we've seen for the last two years

I really don't like all these tags of "happy Clapper" etc... having watched United for over 40 years I've never met any fans who agree with each other totally.

We all have slightly different views about the game and what it means to be a "Blade"

Why do you have to try and put people in certain camps?

There is all us fookers that have always been in the fuzzy middle somewhere who want to go to the match and make our own minds up about what we see and what we think!

I'm in no camp and I make my own mind up after every match!

Ps.....Today was crap! :D

Well said that man.

So we're back to the 'not a true supporter if you dont criticise the shit out of the club' reasoning, are we? Despite warnings about red and white specs and failing to be realistic, the real lack of realism ais demonstrated by the slashers who claim that if only we would moan and criticise then things would be better. Bullshit. The only people who have let you 'suffer' (7th, trip to Wembley and 8th) have been the board of directors not those of us who have chosen, sometimes against our own bitter disappointment, to stand up for the club and its appointed officials (thats called 'support', btw). The board chooses the manager, and chooses when his time is up, not us.

Anyway, you have your wish. Blackwell is gone and good times are just around the corner. Now who's on the list of applicants? Megson, Dowie, Shearer...?

They've left it too late for me, I've got a job in London and have upped sticks.

SACK THE BOARD

I shall be returning my ST to the club first thing on Monday morning and demanding a refund. Some of us actually enjoy the exciting cut and thrust of the more direct game you know....

:D

If you are right at least the new investor listened to the kop who could be heard chanting Blackwell out!
