I think the scout responsible for most of the mentioned players was Archie Clarke ( ass- manager ) he died suddenly in the early sixties,we have never been able to replace him it was a big blow at the time he and John Harrisk were a great team.

Re our meeting with George Harrison, who announced himself as a pig (bad start), when he said he used to be a scout for us I said, didn't do a very good job then did you, to which he answered, ah but I bought the two Kyles to the club. Don't know if that is true or not. He was with a big bruiser of a guy from Hull, who is big mates with Billy Whitehurst. Ex pro who played for Hull, Bristol City and Donny. Glenn Humphries
