Im loving my current save, managed to get the Blades 2nd in my first season 71 points, then 4th in my second season 75 points. You can see my efforts on Twitter @JNCPod

First season from the start and you finished second? Impossible without cheating..?

with regards to United. I think Mousset may be a little broken. I am 6 seasons into my save and Mousset has been the top scorer in the premier league for 5 of those seasons. One of those he was out for 4 months with a broken leg. My highest finish was 6th so it wasn’t like I had transformed United into Man City.
Mousset has been top scorer in the league in my first two seasons too, in one season he got 34 goals!

Jesus, looks like I need to start Mousset more on my save - he hasn't scored a single goal yet in about 12 appearances.

I'm about 32 matches into the first season and comfortably 8th/9th, so it seems pretty spot-on to me ;)

What signings have people made in the Blades’ first season on the game? Dani Olmo is amazing on the game and usually a pretty easy steal

My problem is the no overlapping CB's, the fitness and stamina of the back 3 isn't good enough, and the game thinks Jags is a better player than Egan!
Moose doesn't square the ball enough when its on a 2 on 1 situation which is very infuriating. I switch between 3-4-1-2/3-5-2 and 4-2-3-1. Signed Pedro Chirivella from Lpool for a few million (as lunny refused to sign a new contract and is moving to LA Galaxy on a free), also Emanuel Vignato RW/LW for 350K (FM wonderkid whos 17 and I signed on previous 2 FM's) and also Exequiel Palacios from River Plate for 10.75 Million. Four star potential for a 21 yr old CM with most stats around 13-14 with a few 16/17 in there. was sold to Leverkusen this year for 25Million. Signed Patrick Van Arnolt for 3.3 Million from palace as cover for Stevens. Very good signing
Currently on 38 points after 24 games. The engine is worse than previous years. Rage quit once when Sterling stood in front of hendo on a kick out of his hands, which hit him and he took it into the net. Crazy glitch.
The players stats are just quite poor for how good we actually are, which is very frustrating. Saying that, Stevens is on 6 goals for me and Baldock has the most assists

in all seriousness they need to work on the overlapping cb

the closest I have got is two have both left and right sided cb to ‘get forward more often’ and ‘ run with the ball down the left’ or right for Basham.

this works well up to them passing the ball in the final 3rd when they just bomb back to their normal position.

need an option in player roles as to ‘overlap’

THIS!! Due to not being able to find a way of getting the CB's to overlap I had to use Basham as a regular CB. On the game he isn't the best at this role so I had to upgrade him which ideally I wouldn't have done. As sheffielder said, an 'overlap' option for CB's would be an amazing adition to the game, however I understand that this couldn't be added by the SUFC researcher.

While I agree with you saying its the worst game engine in years, I have seen this in previous years. A new laptop screen was required 🥴
You don’t even have to punch them that hard do you? I was shocked. Completely shattered it.

Brewster needs adding in at 04:30 tomorrow

The budget I got of just 2m is absolutely ridiculous the transfer budgets are absolutely awful on FM and nothings changed.
In fairness (assuming you're starting in summer 2019) it accounts for Berge coming in January so there would be very little transfer budget left for that season (you'd assume). Either way, it means moving one or two on if you want to dabble - I got shut of Stevens and Lundstram for the best part of £30m. Finished 10th first season and currently sitting fairly pretty in 5th in the second after 13 or so matches.

Be just our luck for this to actually happen, only for fans to still not be allowed into the ground.

Found it. I may have got the years wrong but it's looking great for our future families

The joy of Football Manager is the fantasy of taking a shit team, getting promoted through the leagues, pushing for a European place, dropping £60,000,000 on young players, all while the real life version of your team is struggling in the lower leagues and can only sign shit former Swindon players on free transfers.

Chris Wilder basically broke Football Manager. #WilderOut

Don’t understand people that start the game as Liverpool or Chelsea, win the league and then the champions league. I think they’re playing the game wrong.

I won’t start the game any higher than league two as an absolute maximum.

You sign loads of young kids released from top academies and get some decent loans in then rise through the leagues with them. Sometimes I’ve had 30 - 40 seasons with my team over the space of three years and completely control every aspect of my club. Spend 4 hours hiring the RIGHT goalkeeping coach for your under 21s etc.

I guess I just take it a bit more seriously than others. And I’m a loser.

Best thing about FM for me is getting to know the big talents in Zweden, denmark, Uruguay etc and then seeing them develop in real life and seeing this before any non FM players. I start 10, 15 careers per year and learn players that otherwise I never would have known.
