Evening Blades,

Curious to know if any fans actively play the most recent title in the Football Manager series, FM20

I am currently the SUFC researcher for the game so any in game additions involve myself adding them in. I’m open to any suggestions on how I can ensure the club files as as up to date as possible.

Let us know any additions and I’ll keep you posted on this thread!
 



If you can send me a spare Steam code for it I’ll be more than willing to have a thorough look...

in all seriousness they need to work on the overlapping cb

the closest I have got is two have both left and right sided cb to ‘get forward more often’ and ‘ run with the ball down the left’ or right for Basham.

this works well up to them passing the ball in the final 3rd when they just bomb back to their normal position.

need an option in player roles as to ‘overlap’
 
I think it's very accurate, McGoldrick never scores in my game.

I'm loving my current save, managed to get the Blades 2nd in my first season 71 points, then 4th in my second season 75 points. You can see my efforts on Twitter @JNCPod

Feel mcburnie doesn't really grow into the potential he has in real life.

Also don't think his finishing reflects accurately to real life either haha.
 
I assume as the United researcher the match engine isn’t your responsibility but one on ones are ridiculous. So many are missed, even when there is an option to square it players constantly shoot and miss.

with regards to United. I think Mousset may be a little broken. I am 6 seasons into my save and Mousset has been the top scorer in the premier league for 5 of those seasons. One of those he was out for 4 months with a broken leg. My highest finish was 6th so it wasn’t like I had transformed United into Man City.

Mousset has been top scorer in the league in my first two seasons too, in one season he got 34 goals!

In my save, Marcus Dewhurst is England and Leicester’s no. 1, but his stats aren’t all that impressive. I’m in 2027 and Wilder is still at the helm and Mousset has been our top scorer in every campaign.

As mentioned above by RMBlade, when a winger or full back is in a position to square it to a forward in space, he always seems to shoot. I understand this won’t be under your umbrella, but it may be worth passing on...

Other than that, I think it’s pretty accurate.
 
Started a couple of months ago.
Didn't play as the blades.
Starter at Empoli, then left for German team FC Augsburg. Left them for RB Leipzig and currently on course for winning my first title and CL.
CW was sacked in his first season and the blades relegated. They went back up in third season but bottom of the EPL again.
So not very realistic tbh!!

Blades are always terrible. FM mobile 2020 is a case in point. Comfortably the worst squad of players in the league.

Dewhurst has been my GK for 2 years, 6 years in. No call up for England yet though because my backup keeper Angus Gunn keeps getting called up 🤷‍♂️

I’ve noticed this myself quite often in game, massively infuriating when it’s your player. The Sports Interactive forums are the place for reporting any issue/bugs with gameplay. Sure somebody somewhere has posted this on there
 
Saw a FM20 play out of the final Championship table, had them lot bang mid table with Brum 3rd bottom so assume it’s taken into consideration any points deductions
 
With regards to Mousset; his Current and Potential ability was raised slightly prior to the release of the full game with him turning many grounds into a dance floor this season. Surprised he’s scoring this many goals in saves.

Start with being accurate on player abilities/attitude/value. I know this was written when we were expected to be cannon fodder and certs to go down, hope the January patch reflects reality.
 
The match engine is absolutely appalling... still. Don’t know how they have the audacity to keep taking folks money every year and never improve it - needs a drastic overhaul before I buy another iteration.
 
So for player stats - Basham should have like 19/20 stamina, the guys unreal.
The whole team should be really high here too, never seen the team so fit.
Also work rate, mental attributes like determination and leadership we have in abundance.
Defensively we’re clearly very strong too.

Staff wise - wilder, knill, prestridge and Mitchell the scout are all absolutely fantastic at what they do.
