Premier League 2 and the Professional Development League have switched to U21 this season (from U23). People will recall it used to be U21 anyway (albeit a good few years ago). (The U18 level remains and remains the same)

So, our Under 21s get their season underway tomorrow, Tuesday 9 August. With a 5pm kick off at home to Reading. And home in this context is the LNER Community Stadium, which you think of as the home of York City. Yep, United home games at York City, where we are scheduled to play all our home games which aren't at Bramall Lane.

So, anybody who wants to see the young 'uns in the flesh. Or if you live in York Environs. You can pull yourselves over there.

The Carrier Bag Firm will be investigating York pubs & bars - so that you don't have to.

I hadn't realised York's new stadium was so far from the train station, was planning to get the train over to York to watch but didn't bother when I realised I'd have to mess around catching a bus too!

It's got to be one of the easiest grounds in the country to get to by Public Transport. It's literally on a Park n Ride.

Somewhat ironic then that the new York stadium* is sponsored by LNER.

*as opposed to the New York Stadium - grammar is important

Yeah I noticed its fairly easy to get to, I don't mind a day out on the train, but hate buses.

But because it's Park n Ride, the best way I can describe it is...

The no. 9 bus tours around the centre picking up at all the pubs & bars & then jets out to the Park n Ride without stopping because everyone is going to the end stop. It's not like a bus that goes around all the estates picking up & taking for ever.

There's one about every ten minutes

There's even a toilet when you get off.

Before the next U21 home game at York, I'll post public transport deets.
I'm away on the 23rd, but aiming for a day in York on the 6th Sept for the Watford game (aslong as the date/time doesn't change)

Even Andy Giddings doesn't realise its U21s now not U23s. Go tell em Phil!
I pointed this out to a different "journalist" on twitter and they just blamed the fact Stuart McCall said u23s in the west brom pre-match press-conference..

I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both in the first team squad on Thursday.
I'd be very surprised to see either of them in the squad on Thursday, they were barely involved in pre-season even when we had 2 full 11s on the same day... I'd also be very surprised if Lankshear is involved Thursday but Osula isn't (him starting today suggests he won't be).
