I get that. And I fully understand that streaming is the only way many fans can keep more in touch with the Academy sides. But .....

I'm selfishly and increasingly glad there aren't many streams at the mo'. I find attending Academy games is a bit of an antidote to modern football. It's all nice & calm, and forums and social media don't blow up about team selection and mistakes and contracts and spending. It's its own bubble.

But, of course, on behalf of my fellow fans, I understand that streaming would be a good thing on balance.

The CBF reckon that is SIX games (across age groups) that Longshanks Leon has trialled in. In "modern times" that equals the record set by Jamal Baptiste.

It's define future isn't it.

We had a long chat today with an agent. I explained that our Academy has a track record of sucking kids out of elite academies. David Brooks, Sydie Peck, Siem Eyob-Abraha who played today.

But, it is rare for us to suck kids out of non league, like Longshanks Leon. I said - the assumption is, if they're any good, they've already been scouted into somewhere.

This agent said - getting kids out of non league is "the new thing". Because they're men's football ready. Very interesting.

Anyway. On the physicals alone, I think they'll offer Covarne a deal. So, I think he has a future in that sense. Can he make the first team eventually - fuck knows.

I often wondered whether Che was "signposted". In those days, England C was still a reasonably vibrant thing, and Che had been capped at England C. That made it much easier to identify - the best in Non League. There was an "extra validation" over and above your own scouting network.

A 2-1 win for Brentford U21 at Middlewood Road yesterday knocked us off the top of the league on Goal Difference. With a game in hand mind you.
