It is my understanding - that because Brentford are in the Premier League Cup Final on Thursday (v QPR), the Clubs have struggled to find a date & venue for this game, hence "having" to play it the same day as the Play Off game v Bristol City at The Lane, and hence yet more nomadic home game shit at Doncaster Rovers.

Brentford finished second behind Bournemouth on Goal Difference in a very tight South Group. Millwall just one point adrift.

Burnley finished second in the North Group.

The Bournemouth v Burnley Semi Final is also on Monday.

Genuine question, have we even applied?

The Dore training ground has not had any work done - nor have we even seen planning permission applied for I believe -for a new building/training centre up there - as the current facilities are not much better than Shirecliffe.

Might be a good few years till we move in at Dore that being the case so are we having to wait till the first team shifts up there to have more pitches/enough facilities to get Grade 1?

I don't know the answers or what we have to do to get Grade 1 but the club keeps saying we need it but since we took over Dore - it is worrying in nearly a year since we got the keys - we have not touched the site or even moved in to do anything - I run past there most weeks and not seen a bit of work done to it and even some of the pitches are getting a bit overgrown - know they would have to be relaid anyway.

I don't know. But, surely NO. Surely we haven't applied for Category One status. There has been no suggestion we have applied. And, as your "analysis" shows, we must be years off.

I still remain neutral and relaxed as to whether we should make the necessary improvements and apply.

The football industry has become obsessed with "becoming established at the next level". And the danger is losing the simple focus of being the best at the level you're at.

And when the argument is that Cat One would allow us to get more money from the selling human beings slave trade, I fucking switch off quickly.
