There were others there including a Goalkeeping Coach (Bob Widdowson?) who looked about 70 and felt for him scrambling around for missing balls in the bushes of the hill behind the goal.

The older guy Deadbat was referring to is the very longstanding kitman for the Academy teams. As a kitman, it is his responsibility for making sure the teams have the right number of balls for their warm ups & games. He takes that responsibility seriously. People like Geoff are the lifeblood of proper football clubs everywhere. Foundation One. United are lucky to have him. He has helped the Carrier Bag Firm out many times with Teamsheets from distant & inconvenient games. The CBF are lucky to have him.
