Scougall for Davies.

How did we line up after that?

Was it a straight swap with Scoogs in a new found role as a target man or did we play it another way.

According to the Twitter feed, DCL (who came on at the same time) went up front.

DCL went up front, did ok, held ball up and was strong but didn't make any killer passes or get any great chances. It was nice to see the travelling blades applaud him encouragingly rather than moan he didn't get a hat trick

I thought DCL was poor - held it up a bit but lacked the composure to lay it off to a team-mate. He was in good positions a couple of times but didn't make anything of it. However, I agree that it was good to see him supported and encouraged. I'd like to see all of ours players afforded the same.

A little bit unrelated but why was Mcnulty not on the bench and was Calvert-Lewin any good?

I know he only had 20 mins or so and the fact that he is young but DCL did not look any good if I'm honest. Poor touch, not composed. I may be being a tad harsh but doesn't look like he should be pushing the first team squad for a place at the moment.

To me, Calvert-Lewin looked surprised by the physicality of the Orient centre halves, neither of whom was shy to put an elbow in. He showed decent skill to control one ball fired into him but more than anything, he looked hugely nervous to me.

He can jump though, I'll give him that!

LoughboroBlade thanks for the update on McNulty. Has any team ever had so many "knocks"? It's ludicrous.

Istm that it's up to him and the management team to make the next step. The way things are set up aiui he will have limited experience of playing against anyone other than teenagers.

Yes, that's why the comment was entirely neutral. DCL needs to spend the summer in the gym but there's glimpses of a very good player in there and he has to start somewhere. That said, the Orient defenders were some of the more cynical that I've seen recently - they'd done their homework so knew that we rely on midfield runners and combated that by blocking them off the ball.

Thought DCL did well. Looked strong and comfortable on the ball. Don't know what people expect.

Agreed. A good move to bring him on, and I'm sure there's much more to come from him.
