Can someone buy the players some before it ends up costing us. Several players slipped last night after the pitch had been watered.

Thinking about this last night after Bladesman was on about it in the highlights thread, but are we watering it for longer because the lightshow makes the water look cool?

If so that's fucking daft.

We were discussing this last night - do our player slip more than others?

The consensus was yes.

I've said it before we're Egan slipped there's near on pools of water surely it doesn't need that much watering it nearly cost us and if they carry on it will!

It felt like we were flooding the pitch, I thought the sprinkler system had broken at one point.

I was surprised at halt time when we turned the sprinklers back on to drench the pitch even more.

I said that as well! First Baldock slips and lets Liverpool in to score, then Egan slips and almost lets West Ham in. Do the players need better boots?!

Baldock slipped for the first goal at Anfield as well.

Last night a lot of players were slipping at the beginning of both halves when the pitch was wettest.

If your studs provide too much stability then your foot plants, and when you twist your knee you are at increased risk of, for instance, an ACL injury.

Both teams are playing on the same pitch . They are professionals, managed by (in our case at least) extremely competent professionals in all aspects of the game who, it is reasonable to assume, have considered this matter.

But if you fancy seeing John Egan's foot facing the New South Stand while is knee is facing the Bramall Lane end, then Yes he should be wearing longer studs.

We drenched the fucking thing, the players may as well have come out on a dinghy.

The kit man has tweeted pics of replacing studs in boots for players.

Many of them prefer the traditional stud type and formation of 4-2 so he’s been adapting boots for this.

Perhaps Baldock and Egan haven’t done this

It's feeling that's it's easy sometimes that they are playing with their bedroom slippers on.

Did we overwater the pitch so that our long balls held up better?

Just as much chance of seeing a needless injury by unexpectedly slipping.
