Apologies for geekiness!

Again nothing especially shocking, but seeing Campbell looking so sharp when he came on yesterday made me ponder how our four strikers have performed over the season (Brewster disadvantaged by playing more often wide than central)

- xG per 90 mins (ie ability to get into great positions to score goals) : Campbell 0.56, Moore 0.48, One 0.25, Brewster 0.2

- xG vs goals scored (ie finishing ability) : Campbell +2.26, Moore -3.05, One +0.29 , Brewster -0.67

So Campbell gets into more and better goal scoring positions, and then is far better at finishing the chances he gets. So whilst Moore perhaps plays a different no 9 role, we only really have one genuine goal scorer and his injury record is not the best.

Looking at the rest of the division, and possible options to recruit:

- there are only four strikers in the division with better xG/90 than Campbell, being Wright at Cov, Latte Lath at Boro, Isidor at Sunderland and Adebayo at Luton. But all have negative xGvG (ie are below average finishers) with Isidor at -3.55 and Adebayo at -7.37 (the worst of any scorer in the whole Championship!).

- the top 2 finishers in the division are Borja Sainz at Norwich (+4.25 with 15 goals, thankfully banned for yesterday!), and perhaps surprisingly, Callum Robinson at Cardiff (+5.08 with 10 goals). Dropping a division, Poku at Peterborough is top at +5.14 with 10 goals.

- rumoured target, Cannon has xG/90 of 0.46 (so less than both our main two) and xGvG of -0.57 (so ok but pretty much an average finisher).

Perhaps we should get Robinson back!!

You think playing wide is Brewster's disadvantage in scoring?!

That for Adebayo is absolutely shocking 😂

Must be up there with Akinbiyi in his Leicester days

Would be interested to see the shoulder stats of our strikers and how they compare not only with each other but with the shoulder stats other Championship strikers

Given I think we swapped Callum Robinson for Oli Burke I shuddered to think what his record looked like. I don’t have Coolblades level of geekiness but Burke has scored 17 goals in his career in 215 games over 10 years with his best year being when he scored 4 goals for Forest. Not the best.

Although I did enjoy winning at Old Trafford, so thanks for that Oli. In fact I think that was his only goal for us.

Great work 👏

Robinson looked very sharp against us. I would take him back as a squad player 100%.

But the post is more intended about Blades. I agree with it all really. Moore is there to help the team get us up the pitch, better set plays etc. Think it’s the same with O’Hare defensively stats are higher than attacking outputs etc. That’s sometime where the problems are if others are having an ‘off day’ our attack becomes limited in a sense.

But this is why it’s so vital to have a squad. Once everyone’s fit we have options. Can swop both strikers and wingers. Shuffle Hamer around bring in attacking full backs etc.

Cannon his Xg I would expect to be less playing for Stoke than us. We played Stoke and I don’t remember them touching the ball so hard to score. It’s his pace and age that are the biggest things.
