McBurnie for sure.

So he can start the journey of “coming good” sooner rather than later.

Apparently !

Team wants picking on the basis that the league is priority. Anyone who isn't in contention for the next, or even next two league games should be in with a shout. Those who are should be there to add support to those who are playing Wed***day night. Love the cup competitions but at this time league comes first.
If we establish in the top flight, evolving as a team, new better players, stronger financially then is the time to go for the cups. This doesn't mean not to give cups a good go, give your best and if it's a loss do it with dignity.
This should also apply to supporters, realise the clubs priority, support the cup games as we normally do and don't get upset when a loss comes along.

Leon must be nailed on to start we can rotate the other striker 45 min each.Leon should play 90 mins .difficult to pick the starting 11 but will be plenty of changes

I’d definitely start with Mousset, and start him on Saturday. He’s currently on form and confident and I’d be looking to build on that with a couple of goals against a struggling Sunderland.
Crazy as it may seem I’d also start McBurnie if he’s going to also start Saturday to try and build some understanding and help his confidence too. If we were in November I may consider resting but not now, when neither of them have had a continual run of games. Let’s see what they do and if the keep scoring they stay in.
In midfield I think Morrison will get another run.

Mousset and Robinson with Clarke coming on.

Ideally both McGoldrick and McBurnie are ok for Sat.

Rest should be obvious with last League Cup line up - Moore, Freeman, Osborn, Jags, Stearman, Bryan, Besic, Freeman, Morrison all benefiting from game time.

Moore,
jags, stears, Bryan (injured?)
K freeman, ravel, besic, L freeman, Osborn
Moose, McBurnie.

team needs to be something like

Moore

Jags - Stearman - Bryan

K Freeman - Besic - Fleck - Osbourne

L Freeman - Morrison

Clarke

Mouset and Morrison on the bench but no Sharp, Didsy or Mcburnie for one reason or another

I'm sure that JOC, Stevens, Basham, Lunny will be the other subs

Plenty of cover if needed

I'd like to see Moose and McBurnie play for 60 minutes or so, I think they will be the best combo as the season goes on.

Is there any unders 23s close enough to getting a run out. I am not particularly knowledgable about the except knowing many are out on loan!

I’d start McGoldrick if fit. The lad needs a goal and against lower league opposition he might get more chances to make his mark. He obviously needs to build his confidence up in front of goal. Think I’d go with either McBurnie or Robinson along side him.

McGoldrick injured for Wednesday. Can’t see McBurnie playing either, apparently playing with an injury against Everton. I’d go with Clarke and Moose upfront, Freeman and Ravel playing in front of Besic

There's a lot to be said for using the cup games to give valuable, competitive game time to squad players. I also agree with others that it's an opportunity to get our strikers firing. I can definitely see Leon getting on the pitch at some stage.

The cupboard is bare.

The three that were involved against Everton surely wont be involved against S/land,so who does that leave us with,McGoldrick still injured ? is Leon still around ?.

Does Ben Osborn fancy doing a Jamie Ward cameo.

Who ?

Leon Clarke. Ravel Morrison.

That would be an interesting front pairing. 😲

No its not. It’s for all English competitions so he’s suspended for Sunderland & Liverpool as well as Everton. I really do wish people wouldnt post crap like this when they dont know the rules.

I gave you a like for this because I gave the other bloke a like for saying the complete opposite - so it only seems fair.🤔
