Roy's View From... Stoke Fans Views On Tyrese Campbell

Injuries are more likely to occur when players are tired, not fully fit or returning from injury. Physically the game is getting faster and harder. All clubs are getting more injuries, the depth and quality of the squad is key to minimise these through rotation and rest. Brewster and Campbell should not be playing full games. Use them as impact players. Remember when Illy couldn't get beyond 60 minutes without cramping up. We didn't worry because in that 60 minutes he could turn games.

Thanks Roy,

but reading some of those comments I was getting Mousset vibes. Hope I get proven wrong.

Cheers Woy!!
Your poor wrists n fingers have taken a right old battering this week haven't they pal!!🤣

I like the signing.

On a free transfer, decent age, plenty of experience at this level, widely acknowledged as having bags of talent and being a bit of an underachiever. His creative stats are amongst the best in the league. Meaning no disrespect to Stoke, but I'd hope we can provide him with an even better platform to perform and show what he's all about.
As one of 3/4 forwards in rotation he should add a lot.

We need a few more at the top of the pitch now. A CF in the mould of Kieffer Moore and a fox-in-the-box type would be great.
Then if we can add a couple more wide players (JRS and a right footer) then I'd be really optimistic.
I think it's important we sign a permanent goalkeeper to leave those loan slots available for forward players we unlikely can afford.

Yep - sums up my feelings too. This window continues to be very very good IMO

Why ? Moose was unplayable that first season

"his mentality at stoke was rubbish – he’d gone stagnant . He’s gotta prove himself and he’s still young"
“He was disrupted by injuries a fair bit last season – if he’s fit and ready to go he’ll be a handful this season."
“His time here can only imo be looked at as a failure.
With the potential he had and still probably has he should have had 15+ league goals at this level twice by now or be doing well in the Premier League.
I still think he could that. But I don’t think he could ever do it here.
And that’s a failure on him and the club. “
“Another case of a player being remembered far better than he was”
“Lazy git. He would only turn up at the end of the season when sniffing around for a new contract.
Glad we got rid but I wish him all the best. “
“What makes people think he will stay fit for them.
He pulls his calf walking the dog “
“Honest truth is that we’re not going to progress as a team with Tyrese Campbell in it.
Broadly speaking he’s a one goal in four or five games striker, ie about 8 or 9 in a season.
Not his fault but his injury record is appalling and by common consent hasn’t been anywhere near the player he was before his most recent serious injury.
Loads of people on here have criticised him for being lazy or simply can’t be arsed.”
“Some of the comments about him on here, you’d think we’re talking about a player that’s ripped the championship up, never thought he’s anything other than average tbh”
“We wont miss him as he hasnt given us anything to miss. Good luck and good bye. “

those sort of vibes.

Lets hope the positives from Roy's article are the reality.

Duffy was a 60 minute player too

Could work out this one. No doubt though that he needed a move. Couple of poor seasons at Stoke after a year long injury absence, suggests he'd either lost the love for Stoke or he wasn't the same player on return. Stoke were terrible last season, so that wouldn't have helped him, and think seen he only scored 4 in 24 appearances. End of the day, he's been released so a free signing, won't be on a big wage in championship football terms, was a good player before his injury and will get better service in this team, so definitely worth a punt.

So long as the right one turns up, we are onto a winner. Hopefully he's here to prove himself. His interview hinted at that.

Thanks Roy.

Seems to have passed me by because I don't know anything about him, but hopefully we can get him fit enough to avoid injury & see him fulfill the promise many fans seem to see in him.

Well after all the views from XXXX I have to say Stoke City fans a one up for you. The first time I think ever opposing fans have not slagged us off.

Thank you for being civil.

“Let be honest if Tye goes to a team that plays a system that will suit him hes going score going on 20”

Not a bad start to meet that prediction - fingers crossed
Took his goal very well tonight ., lovely first touch , side step around keeper & finish .. you can see his confidence growing game by game

Natural goalscorer, has that nack of being in the right place at the right time and he's been very composed with his finishing.

Unbelievable spot by our management and recruitment team. Another gem uncovered and the way he's going we could have a 10m plus striker on our hands. He's only 24 and to put it into perspective he is just 3 years older than Will Osula.

I feel like Moores hold up play + Campbells finishing ability would be like a cheat code.

His shot to goal ratio is unbelievable, he's so efficient and it's nice to have a striker who'll bury chances. I was pleased when we signed him but I didn't think he was going to be this good. We look a better team with him in it instead of Moore too, O'Hare, Hamer and Rak Sakyi seem more mobile and less static.

Getting flavours of a certain Mr Sharp here. Not only does his physicality help his natural talent in area, he's a step ahead in the head as well. It's mad how young he is, feels like he's been around ages. Cracking bit of business, lets just hope he stays fit!
