Is it just me that thinks he would be better moving on to a side like Crewe or something he's coming to the prime of his career now at 25 he was nowhere near starting at the end of last season and certainly isn't now with scougall Doyle basham Baxter wallace all ahead of him aswell as cuevelier to come back and the younger lads if he was 21 I would say keep him and play in the jpt but there's no place for him here in my opinion

Ship him out on loan with a view to a move or something.

I've never rated him even when he was playing reguraly if he's happy to just sit on bench and pick up his wages all season cus that's what'll happen if we don't get rid

I recall him being MOM against Crewe at home which was technically NC's first game as Manager, but was dropped straight after. He always looks comfortable on the ball but also seemed to look unfit and blowing every time he played a full game.

Indeed. Not without talent, but inconsistent, immobile, not enough devilment in his play, and not fit enough. I'd speculate that his attitude isn't perfect as we have seen him dropped after decent performances.

Hope he can prove me wrong, but I see no place for him.

He put in a great shift v Fulham at Craven Cottage, but I can't remember much else of note

Back niggles throughout the season apparently. He reminds me of a poor mans Frank Lampard (the latter stages one) I doubt we could get much better that is happy to be back up, or atleast happy to fight for his place. Not old and a good squad player in my opinion.

McGinn played in Doyle's holding role that day and did very well. He kept that place for the next fixture against Shrewsbury (2-0 win). He was later covering for Scougall and Coady, but it was obvious that he didn't have their mobility/stamina, which was crucial for their roles.

I rate him and think we haven't seen the best of him. He turned the game against Coventry away and his win/lose record in a Utd shirt will be one of the best in the squad. Fitness will make or break him ,but like Bergen says he is a good holding midfielder and has good vision for that type of player.

Didn't you also rate Paul Thirlwell highly a few years ago? o_O

Agree in that Cov game he was stand out when he came on and looked like he could be a great tackling and passing midfielder. He can play and I hope the competition will bring the best out of him because he has the ability. I hope we don't just never see him again.

I agree with you sitwell. McGinn is technically very good and has an eye for a pass. I know he blazed the ball over the bar
but the way he created the chance for himself against Notts county (away) and his undoubted work rate in other games
could see him become a valuable back up player. I know he was suffering with back problems last season and if he has got
it sorted then his mobility will obviously improve and we could have a tidy player on our hands.
