I can imagine with amount of strikers Warnock was signing then it could be argued he felt his game time was going to be more limited. Throw in his time in and out of the team with injuries then I can see why he might have thought a move away would be better.

I am sure that promotion season we had about 10 strikers on the books. 😄

When we say he was touting himself out. What does this mean as I can't recall it either tbh.

Was it just paper talk? Unless he was saying himself he wanted to leave then perhaps it was just the media/his agent stirring things?

I'm around the same age as you S64 and I also can't remember back then. Most of the interview he seemed like he wanted to stay at United and regretted the Watford move.

My memory is a bit vague but Kabba had a series of injuries which seemed to rob him of his acceleration and his confidence. He was way down the pecking order in that Warnock Premier League season (his only start for us in 2006/07 was in the League Cup) and I suspect the opportunity for a fresh start was seen as a good option. Clearly from the interview with YorkBlade he didn't see eye to eye at all with Aidy Hoofroyd at Watford and that had a lasting impact.

I was at that Grimsby game in 2002. Kabba ran rings round us but we snatched a 2-1 win with two goals in the last 10 minutes after he went off.
 
Great interview. I remember being at the Grimsby match where we gave him a standing ovation, but can’t really remember what justified it. He obviously had a good game, but plenty have had a good game at Bramall Lane, and got dog’s abuse in return! Can anyone remember in any more detail what he did to warrant a standing ovation?
 
I seem to recall Warnock trying to rush him back. I can't remember the exact game but he came on as a sub and was distinctly not ready. Warnock did have a bit of a reputation for this.

Ran his blood to water for an awful Grimsby side. I think he was involved in their goal and he had a couple of decent chances himself. It's a long time ago but I think there was some neat footwork at times too.

Then got to the Premier League had 4 strikers on the bench and insisted on playing 4-5-1 away from home.
